This is not only science fiction, it is also a graphic novel. Avani is the new girl who everyone picks on. But then she is aducted...by aliens!! Will anyone notice she is even missing on Earth? #UCFWaltersLit

Racheal.Shi.Horton Graphic novels are a good way to introduce students to books. Especially those who don't normally like to read. 6y

This colorful picture book based on the biography of Cuban Celia Cruz and her life. Translated in English and Spanish, so all students can access her story.

lizzie0922 @MissMorganSlavik I really find this book adorable! I love the idea of having it in both languages that way each student is able to understand the story. 6y
Kirsten.Pacheco The fact that the book is in both languages is not only amazing for ESOL students but it shows diversity for all of our students. It‘s also a really cute book to read!! 6y

This Realistic Fiction novel, tells a story about a girl named Caitlin who struggles with the death or her brother in addition to have Asperger's. She is on the search for closure. Have read this for my other LAE course needed for our program..it took me awhile to really get into the book, I'm glad I kept pushing through. This is truly a great book. #UCFWaltersLit

This nonfiction illustrated books tells a tale of the oldest of friends a hippo and a 130 year old giant tortoise become best friends. The story also explains how they were first introduced to each other. Another great book to have within your future classroom. Just really wasn't a fan of the pictures...

I absolutely loved this book and would certainly implement into future lessons with my class. This Modern Realistic Fiction novel broken up into parts to hear from each characters point of view. At the end, Auggie gets what he believes everyone should get at least once in their lives. #UCFWaltersLit

As an adult, I absolutely loved this book! I finished reading it in one days time. Although it is fiction, the scientific information within the Eco mystery is accurate. I plan to read My side of the Mountain after being introduced to this title. #UCFWaltersLit

marissa.s @MissMorganSlavik I loved this book too! I was honestly so skeptical to read it in SCE but I'm glad we did. I actually found another book by the same author and it was just as good. I always disliked science as a student but this author has me hooked on her books! #UCFWalterslit 6y

This Mondern Fantasy tale was a great read. If you like a plot line that takes you all over, you will enjoy this one. Each of the character relate to each other some how or another. It's just following the twists and turns of the books storyline to finally get your "aha" moment. #UCFWaltersLit

marissa.s @MissMorganSlavik This book looks so interesting and I wanted to pick it for my lit circle but I chose to challenge myself instead. I have REALLY been wanting to read this and I honestly don't know why I've been holding out, but it's officially in my list of things to purchase! Thanks for sharing! #UCFWalterslit 6y
BLYTHE44 @BLYTHE44 #UCFWalterslit My oldest daughter and I both were over the moon about this book. This was the first novel we read separately and were able to talk about later. (edited) 6y

Robert Frost is one of my favorite poets. This is a great book with an array of seasonal poems. Illustrations are also provided. Great resource to have within your classroom #UCFWalterslit
