Catchy, intriguing, easy and quick read... Enjoyed the book.
Brilliant sequel to Sea of Poppies... Following the story line of some of the initial characters but also a story on its own... Transports you right into that point in time. Loved it. Can't imagine Hong Kong A jungle type empty island 😜
Really enjoyed this book.. A glimpse into struggles that young girls face specifically in rural Nigeria. Such a bright optimistic young lady navigating is through her story. Stunning read! Heartbreaking and uplifting
Enjoyed this book... Loved the different chapters representing the different main characters point of view threading the story
Book 2 in the series... Enjoyed it and looking forward to the next
Wow... This book blew me away... Took a turn that I was not expecting at all and I really enjoyed it. Quick weekend read 😁
Before I started I didn't realize it was part of a trilogy... After reading this book I will be buying the next two 😁. The author builds such strong and interesting characters and it is great to see how they start to fit in together. Such different and interesting time and place presenting huge challenges for characters. At times I thought I wouldn't fully understand the story as he switches between languages with a lot of almost pidgen English.
I was referred to this collection as being the closest thing to Harry Potter and thought I'd buy the first book to see and give them a go... I have since bought the 2nd and 3rd in the collection. I don't think that any book should and can be compared to Harry Potter though. I did enjoy the world that she creates... Simple to follow and interesting with lots of room to test your imagination. I'm looking forward to the rest!
I haven't read a Jodi Picoult book in a long time... The Storyteller was very moving, as it weaves through modern day times, the experience of a holocaust survivor and Nazi officer.... Just wow. I just loved it.
What can I say... I'm a big Seven Sisters fan and this penultimate book in the series did not disappoint... And yes, there is a final 8th book to be released in 2022.
Nice bit of escapism and light easy reading for in between the heavier reads. Nice to explore the rural lifestyle in Ireland!
Beautifully written, spanning 3 generations, and set in Burma, Bengal, India and Malaya. I really enjoyed this book which begins in the late 1800's at the time of the last Burmese sovereign and haven't read anything before that is from the perspective of Burmese and Indian nationals as they navigated their way through life.
Quick and easy read... The characters and setting do remind me of the TV series "Big little lies"... I did enjoy this book for a little escapism and I did get drawn into the webs and tangles she created. I believe there is a series on Netflix for this book but I haven't watched it.
Not too hard to read, but need to keep your wits about you to recall characters introduced. I'm still not sure that I fully understood the story though and found the last 50 odd pages hard to get through. I recently read a comment to compare the story to that of a video game which may help to better understand the story line.
I read the Mad Ship trilogy a few years back and found them brilliant... Also enjoyed the rain wild chronicles. I guess this trilogy didn't quite meet my expectations... Although really good in terms of the world created and connecting with all of the characters, I felt it quite drawn out and it took me really long to finish. Glad I read them though!

Classic twists, turns and characters that are typical to this series... I enjoyed the book 😊
Not a very quick read even though not a thick book... But I did enjoy it. Interesting insight into life in Iran in the 50's when women did not have to wear a hijab in public. A bit of a love story but with its own twists
Probably 3rd time reading it... Haven't read a Sidney Sheldon in many many years... He packs a whole lot of story, characters, plots and events in a few pages.
Read the back synopsis before starting the book... Only realized there were two parallel stories three quarters into the book... Still not sure if I understood it all at the end
