If you love books full of painful suspense that will leave you on the edge of your seat, you will adore Adam Silvera‘s book “They Both Die at the End”. His book starts off with two teenage boys who receive a call from Death-Cast informing them that they have 24 hours left to live. Will they hide out hoping they can survive the day or will they live their life to the fullest before it's their time?

Noelle.Mullin We follow Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio through their journey and how they decide to live out their last day on Earth. Mateo panics when he answers the phone to hear his Death-Cast, he has 24 hours to live, maybe even less. He decides to clean up the house so when his dad wakes from his coma to find out his son has died, that he wasn't left with a messy house to clean. 4y
Noelle.Mullin Mateo washes the dishes, makes his bed, sweeps, everything but ignores fixing his broken stove.. Rufus Emeterio takes a different approach to the news of his death. He gathers his friends and throws himself a funeral before the police crash it. Roof had to skip out on his last goodbyes with the Plutos so he wouldn't spend his last day in jail. 4y
Noelle.Mullin After the call the two boys had decided that they wanted a Last Friend to spend their day with because what did they have to lose? After many creepy encounters Mateo comes across Rufus' profile and they instantly connect. They decide to meet up and help each other through their fears of death. Adam shows us through his writing that there's no life without death, either you can be scared of death or embrace it. 4y
Noelle.Mullin Mateo struggles to find a balance in his final hours, he wants to be cautious but at the end of the day he will die no matter what he does to avoid it. Rufus becomes his Last Friend and together they do everything they ever wanted to do with no regrets. Because at the end of the day they both die in the end.

MissYaremcio Great review Noelle! I would have liked to see a description of the theme and an explanation, but I love how in depth you go with the summary! 4/6 4y
