👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

This novel definitely takes you into a journey of dreams consisting of bittersweet historical facts...
I accidentally came across this book on Amazon and told myself to give it a try and I did not only find out what a precious gem it is, I found myself madly addicted with every word among its pages!

Definitely a masterpiece...A rare gem lost in the depths of the ocean!
Give it a read! You won't regret your choice 😄

King Lear | William Shakespeare
Pickpick

Reading “King Lear“ made me wonder why I've never thought of Shakespeare and his works before. Such a shame...
This play covered most of my favourite subjects...
Madness
A wise fool
A wretched soul (Edgar) returning stronger than ever
Love and hatred between family members
The fall of a once powerful king

quote

The truth is that within any human's heart…whether man or woman… there is a desire to show affection to multiple spouses and to each of them in a different level.

quote
Pauline888888

“Do you know what I learnt from the time I almost burnt my mother's house?“ She began anointing me with a kind of oil which had a strange floral fragrance like orchid, “I learnt that when a piece of wood is burnt, you can use its ashes to wash the dirt away…“ She continued, “I believe that a wounded man is like a burnt piece of wood…When you are wounded, you gain the ability to use your experiences against the ugliness around you…“

quote
Pauline888888

It was always soothing for me to stare at graves...to be comforted by the fact that after so much torment, there will be an eternal place for everyone, whether rich or poor to rest... But it always made me question: why should we endure so much misery, while the consequence of our lives and struggling, whether orthodox or mischievous shall be death and all our achievements shall be buried with us or be inherited to another mortal being?

La Peste: The Plague | Albert Camus
Panpan

Probably one of the books with the most negative vibes ever...
Probably one of the books with the most repulsive, yet vivid descriptions ever...
The narration was undeniably powerful, but I couldn't bear reading it.

A true heaven for a Tiny Tim fan like me!!!! Full of amazing details about his professional and personal life...Could be categorised as a non-fictious novel.

Excellent for those who want to have a taste of Ondaatje's poetic prose, but not his most excellent work whatsoever.

The character of “Jane Eyre“ transformed me into an independent, ardent individual who loves being educated.
I read it at the age of 18 and I just loved it.

Not bad, but not as brilliant as “The English patient“. Definitely worth being read once or twice though.

Wuthering Heights | Emily Bront

That‘s my room with the candle in it, and the trees swaying before it; and the other candle is in Joseph‘s garret. Joseph sits up late, doesn‘t he? He‘s waiting till I come home that he may lock the gate. Well, he‘ll wait a while yet. It‘s a rough journey, and a sad heart to travel it; and we must pass by Gimmerton Kirk to go that journey! We‘ve braved its ghosts often together, and dared each other to stand among the graves and ask them to come.
