Pickpick

Wow! I have literally just finished this book and I can hardly catch my breath! The whole story was so well written I never wanted to put it down but the last third was just relentless! I couldn't wait to see what happened next and waiting for the next book will be unbearable! Best book I've read in ages!

I loved how the last one ended so I've been waiting for this for a while! Early days yet but I'm hopeful that it'll be as good as the first in this series!

Bailedbailed

I'm hoping I'm not entering the dreaded reading slump because this was another one where I had to abandon ship. This book is boring with characters you can't really get invested in. Her boyfriend seems totally self absorbed and I have no idea why she puts up with it and she seems way too slow at picking up on what's really going on at the bookshop. I got to the point where I just couldn't stand to spend another moment in her company.

The non fiction book about working in a library didn't give me a nice book about books fix so maybe this one will! Fingers crossed! 🤞

I know some people insist on finishing every book they start whether they like it or not. I'm not one of those people. I had high hopes for this one as I thought it looked like the perfect read for me. It wasn't. The stories he told about the library were dry, disjointed and at times the descriptions of customers seemed a bit mean. I tried to keep going but it just didn't hold my interest so I gave up!

A change of pace from the fantastical book I finished earlier but I love books about books and often daydream about working in a library or bookshop so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this.

Pickpick

Overall I loved spending time back in the amazing world created by Sarah J Maas and I missed Chaol in the last book so it was great to see him again. Lots of new plot developments that set up an exciting next book very nicely and I liked some of the new relationships that developed. I did think it was a wee bit longer than it had to be and there were some bits that dragged slightly. Overall a great read but not my favourite in the series.

Loving being back in this world again and not missing Aelin as much as I'd thought. Its great spending time with Chaol as I've got a major book crush on him but there have been a few times i thought the story, as enjoyable as it is, was moving wee bit too slowly.

Mehso-so

Overall I enjoyed this book but I did have a bit of a niggle with how one of the story lines was resolved. It didn't really sit well with me. In general though the characters were good and I'd definitely like to go to the cafe for pizza sometime! :-)

Enjoying a quick coffee and croissant before the train with this light and fun read on the side. Only half way through but enjoying it so far. It's easy to read, the village and the cafe sound amazing and on dreary, rainy days it's a lovely wee pick me up.
