The book had potential but I got bored. A very weak storyline. Plus I hated the romantic interest. So all in all … meh.

DNF @ 29%. I tried several times to read this one but it just isn‘t working for me. I should have known I‘d feel this way because I really, really disliked the prequel novella (tagged👇🏻). I can‘t make myself care about the characters or what they‘re experiencing. It‘s too bad; there is a lot of potential here.
Just, at my age, I‘m over working too hard to read books. Thanks to the publisher for sending me a review copy via NetGalley last year.
This was a cute holiday read. I liked that the main character was flawed and not perfect. It has the charm of Paris and the happy ending of a Hallmark movie. I read it over two days. Each time I picked it up, I wasn‘t sure about it and then I‘d be sucked in. Oddly, though, the author wrote several scenes with pouring rain noted at the end after characters were outside doing things that wouldn‘t make sense in rain. That was distracting to me. 3⭐️
Day One of #the12coloursofDecember is navy blue.
This book partially takes place at the holidays and I hope that I can read it this month.

When bookshop owner Sarah Smith is offered the opportunity for a job exchange with her Parisian friend Sophie, saying yes is a no-brainer--after all, what kind of romantic would turn down six months in Paris? This was fun 📚🌺🤗 #bookishtheme #tropesinaugust @Klou
I drove by the local B&N the other day and since there were only a few cars in the lot, I popped in. The new layout is weird, almost maze-like. The flow feels wrong and I don't think it's any better for social distancing, but it wasn't busy, so no harm in browsing. Well...browsing turned into a 7 book purchase. Why so many? #blameitonlitsy
It was nice to be there again. I think Watson has picked an early favorite.
#bookhaul #dogsoflitsy
I wanted something light and mindless and that‘s what this certainly is 😆I much preferred the interactions and stories between the main character and the other bookshop employees over the ones with Sarah and her true love, Ridge ( what a name 🤮) the bookshop did make me think of Shakespeare & Co which I‘d love to go visit again
1st book read during #24B4Monday Readathon & also is another book with snow on the cover @maich Story was from ok to so-so for me. The end was ok cute (also cheese). I enjoyed every reference made about places in Paris😍Sarah owns a bookstore & is from a small town. She agree to make a bookstore exchange and went to Paris. Sarah is so insecure that I couldn't stand sometimes this character but I think many persons could like this book. 3⭐️
Review is up on my blog. Perfect for a bibliophile! https://reecaspieces.com/2020/01/08/the-little-bookshop-on-the-seine-by-rebecca-...
Just a few of my December reads. Check out my blog post for more! https://reecaspieces.com/2019/12/31/my-december-reads-wrapup-reviews-5starreads/
These Rebecca Raisin novels are the epitome of #cozycomfort reading - delightful MCs!

A little too fluffy for me, although that doesn‘t mean to say I didn‘t enjoy it. I enjoyed reading about the bookshop and I also enjoyed reading about Paris and taking a tour along the many streets surrounding the shop. It‘s nicely written and the imagery was excellent. However, I found the characters a little two dimensional, somewhat cliched. The plot was quite predictable and the ending was too neatly tied up for me, too convenient.
Oh we all know it so well, and unfortunately it‘s so true! The true definition of a #bookworm?
#QuotsyAug19
Fun and light! I'll investigate any book about books, bookstores or booksellers❣️ The shop's name is Once Upon a Time, which reminded me of the pretty bookmark from @TommieMarie74 ❤️
What happens, if you open a book, recognising the main character is called 'your' name, loves books as much as you do, has the same problems you often have and does the job you would love to do? You feel in love with this book. 💖 I read it within two days (even visiting an 8 hours festival, did some wedding plans and sleeping).
I don't like romantic novels most of the time. They are often too kitchy and everything is so immoderate. 👇
Riding on the train ago. 😴😴 Trying to read a bit.
I love this cute lil Christmassy romantic cozy. Just perfect for a cold winter day to cuddle up with a blanket & a Christmas tree near by! Loved all the cute characters from both Ashford & Paris! Can‘t wait to read the next book!

Wishing for a bookstore like that around my town 🤩 alas, no such luck, but wouldn‘t that be awesome!!!

Hoping this cozy Christmassy read will get me outta my reading slump! (Book tree curtesy of Pinterest)

Of all the mornings to have the alarm not go off!! I‘m up..I‘m up... And ready to read my eyes out for 24 hours starting now. This is my great library haul and I also have some physical books I haven‘t photographed yet. I‘m going to be finishing a book in the next 30 mins and then jump right in. I love a good readathon! Go @DeweysReadathon readers!!
I'm hoping I'm not entering the dreaded reading slump because this was another one where I had to abandon ship. This book is boring with characters you can't really get invested in. Her boyfriend seems totally self absorbed and I have no idea why she puts up with it and she seems way too slow at picking up on what's really going on at the bookshop. I got to the point where I just couldn't stand to spend another moment in her company.
The non fiction book about working in a library didn't give me a nice book about books fix so maybe this one will! Fingers crossed! 🤞
This was such a great book to pick up. I mean: Christmas, Paris, bookshop, romance. All the best ingredients for a cute romance book. Sarah & Ridge were adorable, who truly loved each other but had some work some things out in their relationship. It was realistic, & had me daydreaming of Paris. 4 ⭐️

I really liked the story but there were a few things that irked me: 1) the poor editing, 2) Ridge seemed totally unbelievable to me and 3) the fact that Raisin obviously based this shop on the iconic Shakespeare and Co in many ways which seemed a bit like an easy and lazy way out. Still, this is a cosy read and perfect for a relaxing weekend. I was torn between pick and so-so but I'm a bookworm so it's a pick. 😊
It's summer! And we've officially opened kiddie pool season. 😂 I'm sneaking in a few pages while watching the little one having a blast. 😍 And yes, I still need to mow the lawn. 😂
I really like the story but the poor editing of this book is driving me crazy!! 😤 I'm not even on page 100 and have easily found more than twenty such mistakes. #firstworldproblems #annoyinglikehell #pleaseeditproperly
Had a shitty day and am ready for some relaxation. 😊
Just started this. 😍😍
Habt ihr jemals schon ein Buch gefunden, indem euer Name der der Hauptperson ist und die euren Traumjob hat. 😍😘 Heute gefunden und gekauft. Allerdings auch im Buchladen. 😍
Have you ever found a book, in which the main character has the same name like you have and has your favourite job. 😍😘 Found this today and bought. Naturally in a bookstore. 😍
Very cute and actually less predictable than I kept thinking it was going to be as I read! Lots of random typos, though - perhaps a Kindle version flaw? Overall I enjoyed it - great for a quick, light read!
A cute light read fitting for the season 😌🎄I'm not a fan of romance in my books (gag noise) but it was just bearable hehe...I loved that there was so much love for books in this one
A bookstore swap- small town CT to the City of Lights. A light romance read with a bookshop, vivid scenes of Paris, Christmas & taking risks & opening to a new culture, city & people. #Christmasbooks @CoffeeAndABook
It was a fun read, took me back ever too long ago to Paris.Just what I needed with the Christmas holiday thrown in.
It was time to take the reins of my own life, and do the things I earned to do...I made a choice. I would find the heart of Paris, I would do all the things that lovers did and to the hell with it if I was alone. There was a certain beauty in my solitude, and I wanted to make the most of it. #Christmasbooks
After the stimulating intense read of Ratification, this book & Saturday morning breakfast a welcome break. #coffeeandbooks ☕️📚 #happylightread
