I didn't really realize what this was going into it, but I really enjoyed it. It had a lot of good reminders about how to really be there for someone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

These books are hilarious. Perfect for anyone who loves the humor of Lemony Snicket! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I went into it thinking it was just another travel memoir, but it was so much more. I loved all the facts and research that went into this. Not only did I get a sense of what it was like to live in Denmark as a foreigner, I also feel like I know a lot about how the country operates. Anyone want to move to Denmark with me? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This made for a great vacation read. I didn't love SIMON, so I was a little skeptical going into this one, but I really enjoyed the characters. The relationships felt real, it seemed like it was coming from a real 17 year old, and it was funny. It might not be my favorite book I've ever read, but it was a good one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was the perfect vacation read. I got through it quickly and it was interesting. Did I love it? No. Did I enjoy it? Yes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
I adored this book! I read the first one a while ago and couldn't stop thinking about the ending. So when I had a chance to grab this galley, I was so excited! Romantic, magical, heartbreaking, dangerous, this book has it all. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I may have started to cry in the laundromat while reading this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm absolutely loving this book. Moïra Fowley-Doyle's writing is superb.
I didn't find this very surprising, but it was a quick read and relatively enjoyable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't know how I missed so much the first time I read this.
While I didn't get through this as quickly as I did GRACELING, I still loved this book. I was really excited to get to know Bitterblue and Monsea better, and that ending really made me want to go back and read FIRE. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There are some books that I know I'm going to love and then I put off reading them for ages. This is one of those books and I'm so happy I finally got to it.
I've been holding on to this galley for quite some time and just now got to it. I had a flight at 3am and then ended up staying up until past 11pm the same night because I wanted to finish. I don't feel like I NEED to read Gemina right away, but I did thoroughly enjoy this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved this book! I adored On The Map, so I knew I was going to like Just My Type before I began, but I didn't realize how quickly I would get through it or how much I would learn. Garfield does a great job of balancing information on printing, computers, the people behind the fonts, and the fonts themselves. I would 100% recommend this (I'm already making my roommate who is a designer read it, if that's any indication) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I only finished this book a few minutes ago but I am SO OBSESSED. I love Katsa, adore Po, and can't wait to find out more about Bitterblue. Even though I've read a ton of "special girl with special abilities is ostracized because she's so special" books (don't get me wrong, I love those books), this one feels 100% unique. I cannot sing it's praises enough. Everyone go out and read this book IMMEDIATELY. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The language in this is beautiful, but the story was way too real for me to handle post-election. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more in a different occasion.
This one was really good! I read it super quickly and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
This was super cute! If you like wacky middle grade novels packed full of zany characters, then this one is for you!
I was a little disappointed by this one. I loved the first Dash & Lily so much, that this one was a bit of a let down. The dialogue was still really great and I liked revisiting all the characters, but this wasn't quite as fun.
This is super fun! It's he first Lisa Graff book I've read and I was not disappointed. It feels a bit like a scrapbook, with notes, instructions, and maps inserted into the text and I very much enjoyed that.
Two books in two days. That's how you know it's thanksgiving.
"I can't quite figure out the difference between loving someone and loving things about them... Mostly, I'm happy to have someone around on Tuesdays."
This used to be my tube stop! Loving this book so far and am excited to continue.
Loved this little book! It was a very quick read with really memorable characters and gorgeous illustrations throughout. I highly recommend!
Yoshitsune's only assets were brains, ambition, and a dream. But childhood dreams can change history.
It's been a good 13-14 years since I first read this book. While it was longer, more dense, and a bit more scary that I remembered, I was very pleased with this reread. I understood more of the nuances and I feel like I have a deeper appreciation for the characters. I'm excited to start The Subtle Knife!
This is N absolutely stunning little book. I've been a huge fan of Nina's since reading HOLD STILL when I was in high school right after the death of a good friend. That book meant so much to me that I was kind of afraid to pick this one up, but I'm so glad that I did. Like HOLD STILL, this is a beautiful study in grief that will make you cry and want to tell everyone just how much you love them. It's about family & loss & understanding. Read it.
I really enjoyed this book. If a travel memoir can make me start researching flights, that's the mark of a great novel. This absolutely did that. It made me want to have a fling while also perfectly getting how horrible dating is.
To sum up, I'm in love. See y'all in Paris.
This is classic Meg Cabot. I read it in about 4 hours in one sitting and I didn't want to put it down. It wasn't quite as steamy and sexy as her precious "Boy" novels have been, but I still loved every minute of it.
Overall, I liked this short story collection. There were certain stories I liked more than others, but I think as a whole it was very strong (my favorite was probably the "Bonnie AND Clyde" story). It was a little saddening to me that so many of these stories ended in death for the badass ladies, but I think that was one of the very few negatives for me.
Just started reading this book (about two best friends navigating life after college and traveling the world) on my vacation with one of my best friends.
I really like it so far. Rachel really gets what it's like to live in NYC after college and to not really know what you're doing. I'm looking forward to the rest!
I'm traveling again, so you know what that means!
I finished PAX and I didn't think it lived up to the hype. I liked it fine, but I was expecting it to pack a much more emotional punch. I also didn't feel like the ending wrapped enough of the story up for me. My issues with the setting remained through the whole book and I think that Peter was a little too oblivious about the war that was going on (kids are smart and know what's going on. I didn't feel like Peter reflected that).
Getting my Mock Newbery reads in!
Loved this book! The world building is incredible. The thought behind the maps is insane. The entire makeup of this story is off-the-charts good. Highly recommend. (Don't mind the cover - there was an incident with shipping and a box of books for work!)
I found this book interesting, but not all that engaging. At times the writing about the different real life people seemed speculative which I didn't love and I found the subtitle a bit misleading considering it took so long to find out about the space race. All together, I would say it was an interesting read, but I didn't really enjoy it.
Excited to start the next feminist book club pick!
Picked up this gorgeous Italian edition of GoF at a bookstore in Milan!!
I ADORE this book! The characters are fantastic. The dialogue is on point. The mysteries are just the right amount of wacky and serious. The book is absolutely hilarious. Pick it up now!! (Also, this is another foreign edition I found while in Vienna)
Picked this up in the Milan airport before my flight back to the states. I'm about halfway through and it's super heartbreaking so far. Just reading her commencement speech gave me chills and that's only the first essay in. Can't wait to finish!
I've been reading this book slowly over the past year and a half and I couldn't have asked for a better vacation/travel read. It's super interesting and informational. My map obsession has never been greater!
