After reading The Girl on the Train, I was hoping for this to be better than it was. I love a mystery where it‘s not obvious from the start who did it. The book switched back and forth from a long list of characters. That can be interesting when done well, but these characters were not likable so it ended up being too much. It had its moments but it was anticlimactic. So disappointing!

"You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children."

-Madeleine L'Engle
As both a teacher and reader, I love children's stories. This is a new favorite!

Trying out one of my selections from Prime Reading on my new kindle. It was okay but nothing spectacular. Glad I didn't spend money on it.

Someone waited all night for me to finish my book. 😁 I picked this book up at the Edisto bookstore during my spring break there. It was an enjoyable quick read. Having toured the island and knowing all the places in the book was fun. Brought back fond memories of my vacation there.

This one was recommended to me as I love a good mystery. Unfortunately, it was not as good as I hoped it would be.

Today was another day at home recuperating, so I had some time to read my book of the month. I loved this one and could not put it down. So good!

I loved being back in the world of Harry Potter but it was not quite what I was expecting nor was it as enjoyable as the original books. Maybe it was the play format or maybe it was having voices other than JK Rowling involved but it was not as magical of an experience as I had hoped it would be.

An early birthday present from my sister. A book of the month club is the perfect gift. Love a good mystery.
