Pickpick

Why is depression so easily dismissed as a bad mood or whinyness, if you wouldn't tell someone with e.g. asthma to stop wheezing? On the other hand, you can be very ill and still be simply an ass. Are you sure you know where a blasé sense of entitlement stops, and something else begins, something that changes the mind like a limp changes the body? Alone for making me face that question, this book is worth while.

Mehso-so

Well-crafted supporting characters, a great premise, a dynamic setting. Unfortunately, the flat, juvenile protagonists dumb it down to a snowflake blog about baby vomit and nappies.

In fair Dagobah, where we lay our scene...
Alas, poor Ani! He was burnt to crisp...
For never was a story of more grit
Than this of X-Wings and of Yoda's wit!
A tale, told by a Jedi, full of woe and sadness, facing his once brother...
May the 4th be with you!

@DeweysReadathon wrap-up: 6 titles, 949 pages and 6 hours of sleep (coz I'm a wuss). I learned that I'm a slower reader now than way back at Uni; but the best part was the overall reading atmosphere at home, and the group chat with friends who were also readathoning or cheering.

A pot of tea, a pint of ice cream and a "power nap" turned 6-hour sleep later, I'm on my last book for @DeweysReadathon

Several hours into @DeweysReadathon and two cups of coffee later - two books down, moving onto a novella. The real question right now is whether to have some ice cream or not...

LauraAndTaraAndBooks Isn't the answer to that question ALWAYS yes?! 7y

Half an hour to @DeweysReadathon and we'll all set and ready! I hope...
I'll be posting here, on Instagram (as lovingbadhairdays) and Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/16737952-jelena)

Sooo, I signed up for my first @DeweysReadathon ever! I got (short) novels, novellas, short stories and comics, different authors, different periods, different styles and different languages. All under 250 pages. Maybe I should stack some essays, too. I'm hoping to trick my brain into keeping focus by mixing and switching tracks...

When you wanna hang with the cool kids, but you'll always be a nerd to the core.

TobeyTheScavengerMonk Is that the White Tree of Gondor on that jacket?!?! 7y
Superpower_Loading It is the White Tree of Gondor, guilty as charged @TobeyTheScavengerMonk But it's not on the jacket. It's on a tote bag, that happens to be a very similar shade of green. 7y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk Gotcha. Mega-awesome. 7y
Superpower_Loading Thanks! @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I probably have more LOTR, Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, X-Men and Flash Gordon items (other than books/comics!) at home than any adult should be allowed. On the other hand, as an adult I don't need permission! 7y

If I can't have a lightsaber as weapon of choice, I'd go for Shakespeareian insults. What I really meant though was: Happy Birthday, Will! And a very happy World Book Day to everyone else!

One for the road... Seriously, do you ever have one book to read at home and another one to carry with you? Either two different ones or two editions of the same title.

TheWordJar I usually have several going at home, one that travels with me, and an either another different ebook or an ebook version of one my home titles. Maybe I have a problem?!? 😆 7y
Superpower_Loading You don't have a problem, you have a thing! @TheWordJar If I'm reading a very heavy or delicate physical copy at home, then I usually also have an ebook version for the go. But if I'm reading more than one title at the same time, for some bizarre reason they have to be in different languages 🤔 7y
readinginthedark Physical book upstairs, physical book downstairs, physical book in purse, ebook on Nook, ebook on phone, audiobook on phone, audiobook on computer, audiobook in car... 😂😂😂 7y

Superpower_Loading Thanks! @TobeyTheScavengerMonk It's still a bit confusing though... 7y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk Took me awhile to get the hang of it. Happy to help if you have any questions. 7y
Superpower_Loading Thanks a lot @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I'll explore some more on my own, but I might actually take you up on that at some point. 7y
