It‘s always fun to start getting acquainted with a new detective. I love the premise of this taking place in Ancient Rome.

This is what‘s bringing a magic, provocation and peace to my mornings.
Great hero's journey with a strong female protagonist. I'm looking forward to the pure enjoyment of this series!
LOVED THIS + not a romance fan. Best review = Dame Margaret “a woman with Asperger‘s Syndrome hires a sex worker to teach her how to enjoy sex, and how they end up falling in love.... While the premise initially made me leery, I cannot speak highly enough of how delicate, moving, and fucking hot the execution is-- an accomplishment that made more sense once I learned that the author, like her heroine Stella, too, lives with Asperger's Syndrome.”
Chapter 9: Personal Mastery. Coming back to a classic. It may feel a little dated in spots, but there's a simplicity and straightforwardness to the writing that's so refreshing. The points are profound and yet he clearly hasn't been coached by an editor to make it to the top of the best business books list(!)
I had high hopes for this based on the reviews... Looking for a fun, absorbing high fantasy series I could sink my teeth into. I was disappointed: it was like an amuse bouche - light, btief and without a lot of substance. Like eating a raised eyebrow.
One of my favorite guilty pleasures - a smart female protagonist, time traveling, hot guy and great sense of humor.
This series was good, well done but not a barn burner. I did love sitting on the porch reading it immensely, though.
Digging in while waiting for Ralph Breaks the Internet to start.
