Great debut set in my own hometown. Loved all the local landmarks. It is told in the first person, which I prefer, and alternates between two best friends, Francesca, and Sophie who went missing in 1997. A dead body washes up and Francesca goes home to face her past. It was eerie and tense. I bought her next book after reading this! (Vicki FitzGerald, author of Briguella)

An interesting read that explores personality disorders and the bearing they have on how a person behaves. Told by Emma and Jane, tenants at One Folgate Street. It seems the landlord is trying to repeat history in a twisted manner. Some explicit sexual scenes! I found myself muddled at times and that the book ended abruptly. Talented, descriptive author though & it is being made into a film! Well done! (Vicki FitzGerald, author of Briguella)

NikkiRobson73 The ending was flat for me it felt like things were not resolved 6y

A dark, fast-paced reads that shows how quickly a person's life can change by a series on unexpected events. Quite gruesome so expect some shocks and gore. I prefer books written in the 1st person so this is a winner!

Wow, a fantastic, gripping, debut novel. I highly recommend. I read it going to Barbados and couldn't put it down. It's told from the perspective of a serial killer's relative, Annie, who hands her mother into the police after she witnesses the death of countless children in their home. Annie is placed in foster care and tries to get on with her life but finds she is an outsider & fears it may run in her blood. A face-paced novel that I enjoyed.
