Picked up this gem again yesterday and couldn't resist but tinker with the enigmatic cover using #Litsy filters. This is cool stuff.

Can we have More exquisite covers please ?

This Book has easily made it's way into my Top 5 list, just like a passenger in a bus finds his way to an empty seat. No second thoughts and No hiccups. There is something about Epistolary novels that gets me,the honesty and humour being 2 of the many beautiful things that Hanff infuses into her writing, it almost transports you to the period and places mentioned in this book. I finished reading this Book in a single seating. I wish never ended.

Ingerella This is on my list of books I need to read. Also, welcome to Litsy! 6y
CarolynM Welcome to Litsy🌼 This book is a favourite of mine too. Have you read any of her other books? (edited) 6y

Vishal07 @CarolynM Hello, The duchess of Bloomsbury is on my TBR, Please suggest more and Thanks a lot :) 6y
Vishal07 @Ingerella please do it soooooon 6y
Vishal07 @asiriusreader Thank you, I feel home already !! 6y
CarolynM Definitely read The Duchess of Bloomsbury because it continues the story. Q's Legacy details more of her reading, Underfoot in Show Business is about her time working on the edges of the Broadway theatre scene and Apple of my Eye details her travelling New York like a tourist because she had been commissioned to write captions for a book of NY photos. They are all terrific. Enjoy! 6y
Vishal07 @CarolynM superb. Thanks much for the list. !!!!?! 6y

"If you're happy in a dream, does that count?"

This is literally what I thought after reading this exquisite, plaintive tale told in the most charming way. There is something about the way Miss Roy draws you into her world ( seems natural as it's partially auto-biographical ) , if you like it you will fall in love with it and if you don't then you stand outside her world and look at it as the history house. It's sadly beautiful & beautifully sad.

RaimeyGallant And welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you need it. Or if you prefer how-to videos, @chelleo put some together at the link in her bio.

Vishal07 Is there any way the reviews could be more than 451 characters ? I wrote a real big one and had to cut short 6y
Chelleo @Vishal07 Hi and welcome! Unfortunately no. You can either link to a longer review that you have posted elsewhere like Goodreads, LibraryThing or a blog. Or you can post the rest in a series of comments. Sometimes you‘ll see 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾 to note more info in comments 6y
Chelleo Also know that there are so many fun things to do: book exchanges, buddy reads, photo challenges and more! Check out #LitsyHappenings for details. @LitsyWelcomeWagon 6y
