Finally! After a long, boring summer, #hockey is back!
Enfin, après un été très ennuyeux, le hockey est revenu!
Look at this #Tagalog (Filipino) edition of LITTLE WOMEN! I wish I hadn't stopped speaking Tagalog when I learned English. 😞
In honor of #NationalComingOutDay, here's one of my favorite #LGBTQ-related books.
Picked up this gem at Skylight Books in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. It's even signed by the author, Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz! It's the selection for Skylight's next meeting of the Current Events Book Club, but alas, I have too much reading to do for work to get to this in time. 😥 So many books, so little time, indeed!
But I hated that nightie on sight. It reminded me of the fact that some women obviously feel obliged to look alluring in their sleep. I feel quite strongly that this is one time you should be allowed to relax.
just scored an ARC of Gaiman's forthcoming NORSE MYTHOLOGY! it really pays off working in library acquisitions. 😊 i can't wait to dive in to this gem.
that crushing feeling of failure when all the ARCs on your to-be-read pile show up on the bookstore shelves before you get a chance to even start them 😭😭😭
after finishing yet another dispiriting book about the disintegration of the Middle East, i think a bit of tosh is in order. save me, Anna Maxted! save me!
i was able to finish this book between flu-induced headaches. it was useful getting a more general timeline of the falling dominoes in the Middle East--and what the US's role was in it--but i would really have loved to read more about his experiences being captured in Syria and what the aftermath was for him psychologically.
