First cab off the rank for 2026 - #Knight
I'm chewing my way through this series at a rapid rate - am up to Common Goal already.
panThis was the worst book I've read in this series. It wasn't a cohesive book, it was a series of one shots with no tension and no meaningful payoff.
It's very clear that Rachel Reid has a favourite character. Ilya is afforded a level of compassion and grace that Shane is not. Ilya‘s mental health struggles are approached respectfully. Shane's disordered eating is treated as a joke (and magically goes away when they are outed)

Picked this up for free at my grandma's apartment building, hopefully I like it.
pick2025 was meh, BUT a huge win was discovering my ❤️ of hockey after attending a game. It‘s become my whole personality &sorry to my friends who now know more than they ever thought they would about 🏒 . Imagine my pure delight when I discovered this 📖 in the fall bc Ngozi was on the author list for Yall fest. She VERY quickly became my “must see author”. This 📖 is SO cute! Heartstopper, but make it hockey 🏒don‘t skip on the tweets at the end 🤣
pickI really enjoyed this book. the use of two different types of sports was interesting. Just like the refferences to eating disorders, mentale disorders and low/high self esteem. It is a nice winter book with lots of SMUT to keep anyone satisfied.
