Couldn‘t put it down… absolute game changer! Really puts marriage into perspective… not that I‘ve been married yet 😅

While I liked the main twist (and didn‘t really see it going that way), the majority of the book sort of dragged for me and the ultimate ending felt a little ridiculous.

This one kept me interested all the way through. I enjoyed the changing narrative. My only note is that it felt like the author may have tried too hard to have multiple plot twists.
I truly loved this book. Good twist, enjoyed the writing style.
I love a good book that keeps me guessing, and Rock Paper Scissors was exactly that! This was a story full of twists and turns that made me "oh my!" aloud on more than one occasion with actual, legitimate surprise. Just make sure your calendar is empty when you pick this one up because I guarantee you once you start it you won't wanna set it down until the very last word on the very last page has been read. Five stars all the way!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Never heard this word before! Turns out you really do learn something new every day. 👍

These are few of books I read where I really liked the twist. Maybe I saw something coming but definitely was not in the way I expected. I wish I could show every book. I‘m looking for those all of you have posted, it will be great to discover those twist. 😃I enjoyed the tagged book also.
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs
Another good thriller where you don‘t know who to trust and exactly who‘s who.
Everyone was so unlikeable in this book. I knew there was something going on because this author usually has a twist you don‘t see coming. I wasn‘t shocked by the twist because I wasn‘t that invested in this book.

Finished 12/24.
I loved how this was about a married couple and how the story went from an anniversary to the next. It was super intriguing to see what has happened in a year between them.
This had also a present plotline where the couple was having a weekend together, trying to save their marriage.
This wasn't the most believable thriller but still super enjoyable. I loved all the twists, they were amazing.
A very twisty thriller that definitely had me guessing. The characters are extremely unlikeable, but an excellent twisty plot. 4⭐️

You know what… no.
The characters are SO unlikable, which I can sometimes deal with in domestic thrillers. But… they didn‘t have to be this diabolical, just get a divorce.. then the twists started twisting & it got good for a while… but at LEAST 2 things about the ending make no sense.

💚Read the audio of Rock Paper Scissors
❤️start the team #BuddyRead NOS4A2
💚Read Spinning Silver - a wintery Lithuanian Folktale 🇱🇹
❤️Start BlowFly - I was torn not going with something more wintery, but I have let this series fall by the wayside. Cornwell is obsessed with Christmas so there will probably be some word search points.

Finally finished with this book. It could have been better. All the characters were unlikable and I didn‘t understand Robin‘s significance in this story, at first. Now I understand what her purpose in the story was. The story had a lot of twists, but parts of the book were boring to read. The best parts of the book were the middle and the end. The ending was ruined for me, though, because I read someone‘s spoiler on the internet. 😤😭😭
Finished Social Intercourse by Greg Howard. Now I‘m reading Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney. Great book so far. I‘m 73 pages in and I‘m enjoying every moment of it. It‘s about a couple who‘s having marital issues because the husband has a condition called Prosopagnosia, which means he can‘t recognize faces. So, the couple is struggling. The wife doesn‘t want to feel invisible anymore. They took a weekend trip to Scotland to save the marriage.
This was recommended to me and thrillers aren‘t my favorite genre. This one took a hot minute to get into but eventually I looked forward listening. I thought the twists were clever, but too far fetched or too many for one story?! Overall it was an okay read. #Pop23 ~a book about a holiday that‘s not Christmas (I‘m going out on a limb, using the British definition of holiday)
Three POVs and letters from the past was a lot to keep track of and Feeney overhyped at least one thing that she was trying to plant seeds for but enjoyable nonetheless
Book 9 for #14books14weeks2023
This book was crazy. Like every chapter ended with something vaguely ominous, it was kind of ridiculous but made me keep reading. I actually did NOT expect the twist and was like WHAT. I thought it was really clever how that panned out. This was a solid fun thriller ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mehhh…this was ok. I liked it, until it took that one mega twist, that was just…ok.
I swear that either none of my monthly #cloudlibrary suggestions & holds come in, or all of them come in at once. 😂 These have been moved up the priority list. 🎧
For the last few months, I‘ve been adding a two page TBR to the beginning of each months spread, and I‘ve found that whenever I‘m not sure what to pick up next, I just start the next book on the list. I‘ve never finished a TBR, but I generally read about 40-50% of them. Many books have been on my TBR multiple months in a row, and are still unread 😂
Here‘s a look at my upcoming August TBR.💜
Wow!! For me this was a 5 star book!!! It was twisty and suspenseful! I really thought I had everything figured out, but in usual Alice Feeney way I was wrong. I would recommend this book to anyone!
The kind of book that makes you want the weather to turn stormy and dark so you can hide away and read it. If you‘re looking for a smart well written thriller full of twists and surprises (and a dog) then this is for you. The face blindness condition is unique and interesting. @Cathythoughts tells me Brad Pitt has it
This was my second time listening to this audiobook. I think I loved it even more this time. This is an excellent book! There are many surprises along the way. Just when you think you know what‘s going on, surprise! It‘s not what you think. It‘s one of the best thrillers I‘ve ever read. It really keeps you on your toes.
“When Adam and Amelia win a weekend away to Scotland, it might be what their marriage needs. Workaholic screenwriter Adam Wright has lived with face blindness his whole life. He can‘t recognize friends or family, or even his own wife. Each year Adam‘s wife writes him a letter that she never lets him read. Until now. They didn‘t randomly win this trip. One of them is lying, and someone doesn‘t want them to live happily ever after.”
4/5 ? This was my first Alice Feeney and I really enjoyed it ! The story kept me intrigued, not knowing how it would end. I do wish that it had more substance, more action. And there were too many cliché one-liners. Overall a good read though
I listened to this via the BorrowBox app,
I enjoyed this one.
Read for reading challenges.
4/5
What a wild book. So many twists and turns that will keep you intrigued and make it hard to put down. Some points started to become predicable once you figured out certain information. I wish the ending was a bit different? To be it seemed a little forced or totally unrealistic given all that has happened.
Main win: the dog wasn‘t harmed in any way.
Fantastic book! Alice Feeney is a great writer.
3/5 🌟
The first half of the book was good, but then it just got too frustrating with too many twists and secrets. I liked this better than Sometimes I Lie but I don't think I'll be reading another Alice Feeney book.
I finished April with a thiller. This was a fast easy read. Page Turner that left me wanting more thrillers in my life. I saw some of the twists and turns but not all and it wrapped up nicely. Left in a book hangover so trying to decide what to read next.
I was able to finish the last hour of this audio shortly after this little dude joined the world! Ethan surprised us a week early so he didn't give me a chance to finish the book before!
An entertaining read that has a few twists and turns- it's funny though, I didn't really like any of the characters, none of them seemed particularly "good" or anyone I feel empathy towards.
I loved this book. The format was adapted to the storyline brilliantly and keep you guessing the whole way through. Loved reading this book.
I can‘t even! I have been so exhausted but had to stay up and read this ending! Thanks again for this gift ( @Sleepswithbooks ) Also thanks for recommending @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks ( #YouPickTBR2023 )
#DoubleSpin @TheAromaofBooks :)
I feel this sometimes (not in my marriage, but just in my life). Anyone up for running away to Spain and owning a bookstore/cafe/winery?
I tried to start this the other day but I was just too exhausted (read only one chapter) this was a gift from @Sleepswithbooks a long time ago (thank you so much) this was also recommended by @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks ( #YouPickTBR2023 ) but it‘s also my #DoubleSpin @TheAromaofBooks :)
I love Alice Feeney and I loved this book. This thriller about a couple trying to save their marriage at a remote chapel in the Scottish Highlands really packs a punch. I loved the plot devices of anniversary letters never shared, words of the year, and traditional anniversary gifts. The secrets and twists were shocking and the remote setting amped up the sense of foreboding. I love being creeped out by this woman. Keep it coming, Alice. 5⭐️
My second Alice Feeney read! I really enjoyed it and was shocked by the big twist. I didn‘t love the ending, but I loved the journey that got us there. I‘ll definitely read more of her stories. #bookspin #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks this was also my first read of the year and first book for book spin!
I forgot about these!! I really enjoyed all of her books in 2022!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book pulled me right in. I was intrigued to know what happened. I loved the ride and I love the way the author can twist her words to make you suspect nothing, and you never know who you're actually rooting for. But that ending knocked it down a star, what the fuck was that!? 4/5
This was really good!! Kept me guessing and I was really interested in each of the characters! Got me out of a rut. This book sat in my TBR since it was new!!
On the 2nd Day of Christmas I pick Rock Paper Scissors as my favorite book of #February. #12booksof2022
