This was such an awesome book! I enjoyed reading about the secret VFD organization as well as their codes, and Snicket's dry humor was a high point. I love how the vintage photos and fictional documents added to the mysterious ambiance of this "autobiography."

This was an enthralling read! I enjoyed learning about the different creatures that inhabited Harry Potter's world, as well as seeing the humorous notes he and Ron "scribbled" throughout the book. And say hello to my wonky dragon I made years ago!

DNF. Lots of sexist and misogynistic language by men in these stories (was intended to humorous, but far from it). One part was transphobic and there were some racist aspects in this book. From what I've heard about other editions of OTAON, I won't be reading them as well.

I love books relating to comics, so The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay is right up my alley! 😊 It's one of the best novels I've read regarding the comic industry during its Golden Age. It's Jewish ownvoices, and it features a gay character (the author is straight, though).

It's been 4 years since I last read this book, I'm looking forward to reading it again. It's about William E. Dodd, an American who was an ambassador in Nazi Germany and witnesses the horrific anti-Semitism there as it rises. I remember this book being quite chilling and unsettling.

Tears of a Tiger is a well-written novel. The characters are quite real, although it can be hard to follow. This book is rather heavy in some parts, particularly the ending; it discusses topics such as death, grief, depression, and suicide. If readers have experienced suicidal thoughts, it's best to avoid this book for personal safety because of a depiction of suicide.

Batgirl: A Celebration of 50 Years provides fascinating insight into a character that has developed from the 1960s to the present. It's interesting to see the progression of stories and artwork, as well as the different gals who have taken on the Batgirl role. The first half kind of ruined the book for me since the earlier comics had sexism in them.
