Read "The Meaning of Life" parts 1, 2, and 3. Quite dense in some chapters, but so worth it for a perspective and freshness you won't find anywhere else
An interesting description of how complicated modern archaeology/treasure hunting is. So-so for what felt like to me side plots that were unnecessarily long
It might seem odd that in cities teetering at the edge of the abyss young people still go to class—in this case an evening class on corporate identity and product branding—but that is the way of things, with cities as with life, for one moment we are pottering about our errands as usual and the next we are dying, and our eternally impending ending does not put a stop to our transient beginnings and middles until the instant when it does.
It was certainty, plain and simple that God had a worthy plan for my life in which every set back would also be a step forward.
The magical realism of the underground railroad being a literal subterranean system was underwhelming. The way he played with time was more interesting
