Have you ever read a book in passing—a book that you thought was a one-off only to find out years later that it was part of a series and now you scramble to find each one and devour it?

That was me with Fairyland. Revisiting it with September has been a slow burn because life gets in the way, but now it‘s on to the next Adventure (yes, capital A!)—because the Ravished leave, yes, but they always return in the spring.

‘Somebody should have told him that being a physicist, on a planet where the smartest animals hate being alive so much, means never having to say you‘re sorry.‘

This book took my heart and trampled it. But by god, it did so beautifully.

Rereading an old favorite.
