Pickpick

A super quick, page-turner of a thriller. Written from the stalker and murderer‘s perspective this book is obsessively written and grotesquely well done. Definitely not without its plot holes but overall a great read.

The Boneless Mercies | April Genevieve Tucholke

Pickpick

Tucholke is a stronger and stronger writer with every book she writes. I loved her writing style and ability to capture the /feeling/ of centuries old fairytales in her last book. Here she does the same but with a Norse-inspired standalone YA fantasy. This book and its characters are full of grit, blood, and fiercely wild magic. The writing is epic and lyrical just like Beowulf, the story which it retells from a fresh feminist perspective.

Mehso-so

I‘m a terrible skeptic when it comes to thrillers/mysteries. This one definitely pushed the plausibility a little too far for me. The beginning premise caught my attention at first and the alternating narratives make it pass quickly but once I got busy I didn‘t feel particularly motivated to pick it back up.
