The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls

Pickpick

The Glass Castle was a very real life story that visualizes the life Jeannette Walls lived in poverty. If you like books that are realistic and easy to find connection within, you will like this book. The Glass Castle was written in first point of view (Jeannette‘s view) of her life growing up. Jeannette established this point of view by writing how she felt in situations, and showing us her perspective of the issues in her family.

meganhanlon Jeannette focused on keeping an optimistic view. Instead of letting the hard things in her life hold her back, she took action and used them as motivation to create a better life for herself. 1y

Pickpick

The Glass Castle is a very personal story. If you like being shown characters emotions and seeing the struggles they have encountered in their life firsthand then you should read this book. I would recommend this book because it is consistently interesting, and there are not very many “plain” parts in it.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Megan - I would have liked more in the summary, and you were missing a theme and how it is developed. 3/6 2y
