Well that was a dark book. I haven't often read an author capable of cutting quite so deep while weaving a web of words capable of binding the reader to the book. Brilliant story, definitely needed Saga 7, which followed.

I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed this book. But not half as much as I enjoy a great mystery or a moving literary novel with similar themes. It was fun, it took very little effort to read, and I bet you already know if you're going to read it or not, without anyone else saying a word, so enjoy.

For what it was, this was a great book. A simple, straight forward YA historical romance with an assured ending. I relished giving my brain a break from the slightly more serious reading I've done lately, and I honestly couldn't put it down until I finished. Fun and simple.

It was too soon. I'm evidently still extremely upset about what happened to Hillary over the course of the election, and that so many don't realize it was happening. However, this book is perfect and needs to be read by everyone. So pick it up as soon as you can handle it, and prepare to be ripped apart.

Interesting and eerie foray into a world where humans are capable of both extending life and using surgical implants to communicate with AI. Read in one sitting, though it's not that short a book. I'm rating this so-so ONLY because if I were to compare it to the last twenty books I've read, it wouldn't be at the top. I did like it, and I bet many others will too.

Amberlough was a very nice distraction, full of likable characters in a creative universe. Extra points for writing a world in which half the population is LGBT and not defined by gender roles.

My first NK Jemisin novel, and I can't believe how lucky I am that I get to keep going and read more of her work. The Fifth Season is a world you will not want to live in, but one with narrators you will want to know intimately and secrets you will desperately want to uncover.

With her quick and delightful take on an elite acting studio focused entirely on Shakespeare, Rio has created a story worth diving into without any description. As a former professional actor, I found the characters VERY recognizable even as some descended into madness. Fun book. Definitely recommended.

Visiting my moms in North Fort Myers and reading on the lanai is incredibly relaxing. Let's stress ourselves out with a really disturbing murder, shall we?

Look, we all know Neil Gaiman is an American god. So of course he's pretty fantastic at capturing the spirit of the Norse ones ;) Well written and a quick read.

A journey to Mars... in a simulation in Utah. Helen, Sergei and Yoshi are accomplished astronauts who have been chosen by private company Prime to be the first crew to go to Mars. First, however, they will undergo an identical simulation in a highly advanced replica of a ship. This was a fascinating book; I had a great time and the pages flew by. If you are into the psychology of extreme situations, or fascinated by space, give it a try.

Excellent advice from a fantastic author. Adichie is a very straightforward, honest person and her take on how to raise a girl as a feminist (aka how to raise a girl as a human rather than an object) is simple but comprehensive. As a lifelong feminist and activist, I still found myself nodding along, learning. The book is very short, 68 pages, and very nice reading for a pause in a long day.

I've heard a lot about this book, especially pertaining to the evidently quite intense psychological aspects. Not everyone is giving it a glowing review. Fresh off the disappointment of Spaceman of Bohemia, here's hoping this adventure into "space" is a success!

Beautiful exploration of a very unusual life. Loo is a young girl whose father, Samuel Hawley, has an unusual number of bullet wounds (is any number of bullet wounds usual?)), each with their own story. As the stories unfold and we learn where Loo comes from and who exactly Hawley is, we also follow Loo growing up, struggling to hold onto the outsider life she has grown accustomed to, while learning to be in the world as it is.
