I picked up the next three "to-read" volumes of Saga from the library, and read them back-to-back thinking that would help with my sense of narrative flow, which it did to the extent that my feeling of the flow as turbulent rather than smooth was confirmed. Maybe it's a stylistic choice, but when the story is split over installments, I'd prefer more cohesion.

Volume 3 was a low pick, verging on a so-so: I'm not a great fan of writers writing about writers when they're writing about themselves. Also, it barely moved the story along.
Volumes 4 and 5 picked up again, though ask me now what happened and I'd be hard pressed to answer.

Anyway, all that sounds like I don't enjoy Saga, but I do, and will continue to read it: I'm just in a complaining mood this morning! 10mo
