Kitamura's writing is intoxicating and addicting. This is not a thriller by any means, which is why perhaps its received so many mixed reviews; you will be let down if you expect this to be something like a Gone Girl. However, if you're looking for a read that will have you reflecting on the meaning of relationships, this is lovely.

In the end, what is a relationship but two people, and between two people there will always be room for misapprehensions, things that cannot be explained.

Loved this book! A story full of kick-ass ladies with a Kill Bill vibe- what's not to love. Recommend to anyone looking for a fun, off-beat read to add to their TBR list.
