I love this series, so I am certainly biased, but I waited to start this - despite it being delivered to my Kindle the day it was released - and I finished today. I am bereft now that it is over. It was excellent. Can't wait for the next installment! I would love recommendations for similar stories/series.

So good. SO GOOD. I'm sad the words are all done. (Also, Yaa Gyasi was born in 1989 😳)

JennaAZ OMG. 1989. 7y

Saddle up, friends, for I am sailing through this series. It's total fluff but fun if you like paranormal mystery/romance type stuff. Charley is a charming, funny character. I find the main love interest fairly one-dimensional and some of the things about Charley that are designed to make her likable (like her love of coffee) rather overdone, but all in all, this is a fun series for distraction and escape from reality.

Tell Me Three Things | Julie Buxbaum

Tell Me Three Things was super predictable but I loved it anyway. Check it out if you want something light, though it does deal with the death of a parent as a central them, just as a warning.

What this week needs is some lighthearted fluff before Friday comes and everything is scary and terrible in the real world.

This started a bit slow for me and I didn't like Lydia much at first but by the end I was rooting for Dill and Lydia. This book also made me cry. Recommend!

Born a Crime | Trevor Noah

My sister listened to this audio book (narrated by Trevor Noah!) and it sounds amazing. It's moving up to the front of my list. 😍😍😍

My brain is fighting with the math section for the basic skills exam for licensure. Good thing I want to teach English! Still fairly embarrassed at how much I'm struggling.

ErinBumG You've got this. 💪🏼🤞🏼💯 7y
notliketexas Thanks, lady. Wish I felt that (any!) confidence! I take the test on 1/28. 7y

Started this last night. So far, it's grabbed my attention but it's not a can't-put-it-down read.

MarauderErin I really enjoyed this one! 7y

Books for school showed up today. Guess I better hurry up and choose my next leisure read because I'm going to blink and be back in class.

MarauderErin I'm such a dork that I want to read both of those books! 7y

Look, I know this is one most people loved. I wanted to love it! It took me a long time to get into it, and I did end up enjoying it and being bummed that it was over. It bugged me that the fantastical stuff was never explained! I really loved the characters and thought she did a great job with the social hierarchy and stress of high school. The astral projecting seemed unnecessary and out of place in an otherwise solid story.

vandeblogger This is on my list, so I'm glad to hear this. (Too many raves & I end up disappointed!) 7y
notliketexas It was good! I just get very hung up on stuff like this that doesn't resolve. 7y
