Carrie Brownstein is good at so many things: playing music, being funny, and writing about her life in an interesting and relatable way. She also manages to avoid the “fake humility” trap so many memoirists fall into when writing their stories.

Interesting read. I probably would‘ve enjoyed it more if I‘d never read Shirley Jackson, but, since I have, this book felt pretty derivative to me.

THIS BOOK. I laughed, I cried, I had all the strong feelings. Wonderful, wonderful book.

Third installment in the Old Kingdom series. A little clunkier than the first two, but still a great read.

Second installment in the Old Kingdom series. The Clayr‘s spural library may be my favorite setting ever. And the Disreputable Dog is one of my favorite characters.

Dark YA fantasy. Beautifully written.
