I really liked this book. Lots of action. I didn't know anything about the book except that it was good before reading it. I recommend doing the same. Don't read any reviews that give away plot twists. Just read it, you'll like it!

Quick read, felt a little short but was still entertaining. Like The Martian, the main character knows a lot about a lot of stuff to the point of it almost being unbelievable. But Andy Weir must know all that stuff so it must be possible. Not sure I buy the female perspective written by a male, felt a little too much sex driven. Heard there might be more books on this town and I'll read those.
It's good enough to make me happy there's a forth book in the trilogy and I will read book 5 when it comes out. It took a little getting used to the different points of view especially when there was character overlap but the new characters were a nice addition to the story. I sometimes wished there was a glossary for terms as its been a while since I read Red Rising and there were a few references I didn't get. I did reread Morning Star.
When I wasn't reading, I kept thinking about the story. Very compelling. Don't read the epilogue until you finish the book! (I like to read the end first, I don't recomend doing that here.
Overall I didn't like this book and won't be reading the rest of the series. I don't like when authors make up too many new words for old things. The story itself was readable which made me keep going until the end and then the end was wholly unbelievable. I won't go into it but she had me right until the last five pages and then it didn't ring true. Which made me go back to earlier parts of the story to doubt them.
Another great book from Backman. Has lots of hockey is life moments that are enjoyable. Don't want to give anything away, so I'll just say good coming of age story.
I really like Fredrick Backman's writing. One book is not like the others! This has some great soccer is life moments that made me laugh. This is also a book about getting old (like Ove) and finding a place. I expected Fredrick Backman to be old, not younger than me! Wise beyond his years, lucky him. Now to find some other Swedish authors to fall in love with while waiting for the next one from Backman. (I've read Beartown, it's good too)
It took me a long time to read this book and I was very tempted (but didn't ) to read the end first. I found the premise to be believable but didn't care for the way the book ends. I wanted to like it more. Better than Phillip K Dick, not as good as The Handmaiden's Tail
This is the first book of a trilogy and it inspires me to keep reading. No cliff hanger, just likeable characters and I want to know what happens next.
The book was good. It kept me interested. The main character is likeable. The story not too unrealistic.
many times I had to stop and remind myself it wasn't a true story.
