Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. -JK Rowling

I enjoyed this book. Several times throughout it I was ugly crying, especially at the end. The only problem I had with it was that I felt as if it was a knock off of Beaches. Nevertheless, it was a touching story. Some have criticized the characters as two dimensional, but I disagree. I think their flaws and weaknesses made them relatable.

I wanted to love this book. I really really wanted to. While I recognize Gaiman is a great writer, and this was generally a well written story, I just wasn't able to care about these characters or this story. I may give another one of his books a try eventually. But this one just didn't do it for me.

Bookgirl Thank god. I just bailed on this after reading almost half. So bored, despite the story seemingly being interesting 🤷🏼‍♀️ 2mo

The genius of horror is back and as strong as ever! While this book was more disturbing than scary, I enjoyed the usual King markers such as the well developed characters and the occasional veiled reference to his other stories. I enjoyed this read and would definitely recommend it.
