Day 15 - #Rome (the Eternal City)

I'm going with another movie and with another song 🇮🇹❤

Roma dove sei? Eri con me
Oggi prigione tu, prigioniera io
Roma antica città
Ora vecchia realtà
Non ti accorgi di me
E non sai che pena mi fai

Vacanze romane- Matia Bazar

nanuska_153 Nobody that has seen this movie can go to Rome and not do a Gregory Peck when visiting la bocca della verita. (Or maybe I assume nobody can cause I couldn't 😅) 3y
Ast_Arslan @nanuska_153 I agree with you, but actually you cannot do it 😔 it's under a glass and also you have to pay to go just in front of the bocca della verità. I was very disappointed when I walked tgrough Rome to see it and find out the truth 😭 3y
nanuska_153 That must be recent. When I did it there was a long q and unlike the movie, it was beside a building closed during the night, not in the middle of the street, but that was all.The pic of me and my friend pretending to get our hand chopped is so hilarious my dad has it framed in the living room even though he doesn't know my friend😅 I've been back to Rome since cause I love the city but I never queued again, you can't top that experience 3y

Ast_Arslan @nanuska_153 I've been there few years ago and had this bad surprise 😔 maybe things have changed in the meanwhile, I can't tell 😣 Your pic must be wonderful! 🤩 Rome is a beautiful city, but I personally think that Florence is better 😆 3y
nanuska_153 I know how you must have felt. One of the reasons why I wanted to go to Rome was because seeing the Laocoon and his sons was in my bucket list, when I was there the first time there was a problem in the patio where it was and they had it closed down and I could only see it from the distance.Love Florence too but Rome has the Galleria Borghese and I could spend a lifetime just looking at some of the Bernini's sculptures they have there! 3y
Ast_Arslan I had experienced the same feelings in Turin as well 😣 A lot of things that are in my bucket list were in renovation 😣 3y
Ast_Arslan @nanuska_153 I actually do not remember if I have been to Galleria Borghese... I guess no, but I can spend a lifetime in Galleria dell'Accademia just admiring the David by Michelangelo 🤩 There's so many art in the world, I found a lot of impressive sculptures in Denmark as well, I was just amazed 3y

?I adore Audrey Hepburn and just watched her as a Greenwich Village bookworm turned Parisian fashion model in "Funny Face".

OMG. The film scene in the bookshop. All the Penguin paperbacks I spotted in the background!! Not vintage but 1957 contemporaries!!!

TobeyTheScavengerMonk Watching a movie and paying attention to the books = mega Litsy cred. 7y
Jess_Read_This @TobeyTheScavengerMonk ?I did exclaim "omg, that's a pink Penguin!" And made my husband pause the TV so I could show him. (edited) 7y
OrangeMooseReads I love this movie. I get so angry when they destroy the bookstore by moving and piling the books all out of order. 7y
