Can you imagine paying 60¢ for a book?

Nine Stories | J. D. Salinger

This is the Modern Library Books 1953 Edition of Salinger‘s Nine Stories - minimal wear for its age.

Am looking to start using some archival sleeves for my prized books - has anyone ever used Brodart covers before? I‘ve never really thought about using them before but I do have some antique first editions that could probably benefit from some more protection.

bumpinthenight PS - excuse all the dog hair, he looked at me and all of the sudden I was wearing his fur. 3w
Leftcoastzen I like the Brodart covers , the pre sized are easier to work with than the rolls , I think. It‘s been awhile since I have bought any . 3w
bumpinthenight @Leftcoastzen I watched a lot of videos about how to apply them and the sleeves seem easier but so much more cost effective to buy the rolls. I just wish the rolls were easier to use as book sleeves and not just dust jacket sleeves. That‘s my only hesitation. I‘ve narrowed it down to Brodart vs Demco Supplies. Both are really reputable for archival/library supplies. 3w

I touched one of these beautiful books today. Found in a local antique shop. The leather was exquisite. The page edges were marbled and fabulous. Printed in 1883 or 1889, I'm sorry I can't remember exactly. It was a 22 volume set. Sadly they were a tad out of my price range at $750. They were truly stunning though. I have not read the tagged book but it's on my tbr list. #vintagebooks

My grandmothers collection of Nancy Drew makes me happy. Confession: I‘ve never read a Nancy Drew mystery, too bad she doesn‘t have number 1, because I can‘t start a series on anything but! 📚 #vintagebooks #nancydrew

Talk about VINTAGE! At the request of Leah, here‘s an EIGHTY year old library bound copy of Tryst. It‘s filthy, spotty, torn, and has a Dole Banana sticker on p. 53. Out of print for eons. Stamps in the back go back to 1972.

I‘m starting to run out of room of places to keep my books in my small apartment so there are piles on windowsills and floors lol.

I got these at the Friends of the library sale last weekend. They had a whole table full of vintage books and I grabbed these ones. I wanted so much more but had to resist.
