The Soul of a Chef
The Soul of a Chef: The Journey Toward Perfection | Michael Ruhlman
5 posts | 5 read | 6 to read
In his second in-depth foray into the world of professional cooking, Michael Ruhlman journeys into the heart of the profession. Observing the rigorous Certified Master Chef exam at the Culinary Institute of America, the most influential cooking school in the country, Ruhlman enters the lives and kitchens of rising star Michael Symon and renowned Thomas Keller of the French Laundry. This fascinating book will satisfy any reader's hunger for knowledge about cooking and food, the secrets of successful chefs, at what point cooking becomes an art form, and more. Like Ruhlman's The Making of a Chef, this is an instant classic in food writing-one of the fastest growing and most popular subjects today.

Well, I‘ve been trying to turn back around from sleeping in the day to sleeping at night. It‘s kind of working, lol. When I haven‘t been sleeping, this is what I‘ve been reading!

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks We are reading The Sun Down Motel in May for our #BotmBuddyRead 📚 5y

Mehso-so

So-so, would not recommend. Disjointed accounts- it felt like a chore to finish

Food/cooking is not a go-to genre for me but it's a prompt for one of my reading challenges. This one really sucked me in & I loved it. I've always been interested in trying French Laundry but it is now on written on my bucket list in permanent marker. I listened to the audiobook & the narrator was fantastic. I started listening several days ago but finished it for #24in48

I very much liked the book, but it was one of my first on Audible, and I'm not as good at paying attention to what's being read to me, rather than by me. But, I also think that this is probably better on Audible than in book form. Anyway, I liked hearing about the ideals of cookery and chefdom.

Megabooks I picked this up on audio too! Glad to know it's good. I have this one in paperback and loved it. 8y
Suelizbeth @Ebooksandcooks I may have to get that next. 8y
