Rober Aickman doesn't call his stories horror, but rather “strange stories“, and I think they're exactly that. I loved the eerie atmosphere and Aickman's ideas. I was also surprised to find stories told from a female point of view.
Some stories were a bit too long and too slow for me. But this book was still a positive read to me, and I am glad I got to know Robert Aickman.

Not exactly an impressive cover, but I suppose it‘s what‘s inside that counts. Aickman called these “strange” stories, and that‘s more accurate than horror or even ghost stories. To be read in a darkened room, of course.
