Super-slick, all-action and very very funny, this is James Bond meets Artemis Fowl with a dastardly twist - even the goodies are baddies!

Freshman year of high school, they put not one, but TWO photos of me in the lineup. Why?? Because of an initial?! You better believe I joined yearbook staff the next year. Unfortunately, the photos didn't improve. But look at that senior year fresh-from-braces grin! 😬

Cinfhen Too cute! 8y
ValerieAndBooks I joined our HS yearbook staff for almost the very same reason! Sophomore year, I had my picture retaken twice and one of them ended up in my best friend's spot instead of her own picture! 8y
saresmoore @Cinfhen Exactly what my parents said! (I didn't believe them at the time.) 8y

Rachel.Rencher I'd pretend I had a twin and mess with people 😂 8y
saresmoore @ValerieAndBooks How weird is that! It seems like a pretty egregious oversight, but such is the way with a staff of volunteers. 8y
saresmoore @Rachel.Rencher Right?! And really creepy parents who gave us both the same first name. My twin photo really does have a sketchy vibe. 8y
ValerieAndBooks True especially back in the days when producing a yearbook was a cut-and-paste operation. Were they digitized yet by the time you were in HS? 8y
LeahBergen 😂😂😂 I love it! Oh no ... I need to get out the yearbooks now! 8y
Reviewsbylola That's hilarious. Your hair is beautiful. I love the color! 8y
saresmoore @ValerieAndBooks Just barely! My school was poorly funded and the program we used was terrible & we still had to send in physical pages with photos glued in place. Crazy! 8y
saresmoore @Reviewsbylola Oh, thank you! If only someone had taught me how to apply mascara (or literally any makeup), it might have made for a decent photo. Ha! 8y
ramyasbookshelf I like how they picked two slightly different pics ;) 8y
saresmoore @ramyasbookshelf I think they thought the second one must have been my long-haired twin brother. 🙃 8y
LeahBergen @saresmoore ???I just laughed out loud here after looking closely at your "brother". 8y
MicheleinPhilly Holy crap. That is HILARIOUS! 8y
saresmoore @LeahBergen @MicheleinPhilly There were many years of my childhood during which my real-life brother was actually much prettier than I was. Needless to say, I endured a lot of torment from him over this yearbook fiasco. 8y
L_auren How did they even get two different photos of you?? 8y
MicheleinPhilly Can we also talk about the demonic kid above the first photo of you? 😳 8y
saresmoore @MicheleinPhilly Seriously. I honestly don't have any recollection of him... 8y
saresmoore @L_auren I think I did a retake because the first photo was SO BAD (on the right). It sort of defeats the purpose of a retake if they include both, though! 8y
Dogearedcopy LOL, There's a horror/sci-fi story here just begging to be written about clones and George Segulz... 😄 8y
Megabooks Dying!! 😂😂😂 In that second one, you look so surprised! Your senior portrait is great! 8y
Megabooks @MicheleinPhilly I was wondering about that one too! 8y
Suet624 Honest to God, I figured that had to be your brother. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. By the way, I never learned how to apply makeup. What you see is what you get. Sometimes I apologize for that. 8y
saresmoore @Booksandcooks Surprised or maybe dumbfounded? Haha! 8y
saresmoore @Suet624 I never learned how to apply makeup, either, but I do like to think I grew into my face a little. Ha! When I was young, everyone told me how much I looked like my dad. Now I look much more like my mom, thank goodness! (I was also the size of an average fourth grader in this photo...my teen years were rough.) 8y
Suet624 Such a relief to have made it through those challenging times. Tough times for sure. 8y
LeahBergen @Booksandcooks @MicheleinPhilly I didn't want to mention him! 😂😂😂 8y
Hobbinol Double the pleasure!😉 8y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk The you on the right looks startled that the you on the left is there. I agree with the crowd that there's short story material here somewhere. (edited) 8y
saresmoore @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I do think we're onto something potentially creepy and awesome here. 8y

I don't have an #indiebookstore locally, but one of the reasons I finally got a Kobo this year was to have a way of buying ebooks from indie stores & publishers.

http://www.hive.co.uk

Hive are an online bookseller that link with indies across the UK. When you check out, you choose which shop you're supporting. They also have a bookshop-finder, and let you click'n'collect to your local indie if you have mailbox issues! 👍📚
