This book definitely has a well loved troupe, fake marriage. I felt sorry for Katherine and thought Richard was a total asswipe. But then that's what the author wanted the reader to think about the characters. Sound familiar? The plot was predictable; however, the character of Katherine saved the day. So wanted something good to happen for her and that is what kept me interested. 3.5 ⭐️ if the plot had been more polished this could have been a 4.

Welcome to meet the douchebag of the year, Richard VanRyan. And he‘s really making my blood boil whenever he‘s bullying his pa, Katharine Elliot. But this 📚 brought me laughter, edginess, 😢 and a beautiful ending. Definitely one of my fav 📚. #melaniemoreland #contemporaryromance Richard goes into a contract with Katy to make sure he got the job for a rival company. But... He‘s getting more w/o his knowledge.

🌟⭐⭐⭐⭐
I thought the first third was decent enough but it went down hill from there for me. The character development for the 'hero' went from one extreme to another (asshole to saccharine sweet) without any real sense of who he was. It all seemed like a weird bipolar facade. The heroine was a Jane - boring and unmemorable. I liked the premise but the execution was poor, primarily around the characters.
