This book had so many great ideas that would have made amazing stories but it couldn't seem to just stick with one. One minute we're in a book about witches, vampires, shifters, and their ilk the next were talking about ancient Greek warriors and what it means to be a monster.

I also found the main character's language grating. "Donkey butt" is not a suitable replacement for asshole. Same with fricky dicky and other pseudo swears.

DogMomIrene The only pseudo swear word I've truly loved is Frack! From Battlestar Galactica. So fracking good! 8y

so-so

I do love me some Shannon Mayer, but I'm not so sure about this series. It's a decent read, but if you're expecting it to have the depth of her Rylee Adamson series, it does not. Overall, it feels rushed and jumbled. Give it a try but keep the expectations low.
