BarbaraBB @CarolynM I‘m surprised they haven‘t opened yet in Australia. It‘s strange how all countries have different approaches of dealing with corona. 5y

CarolynM They probably have in some states. Victoria is taking a very cautious approach to lifting restrictions (with good reason as new cases are still being identified). We might have further easing from 1 June. 5y

BarbaraBB @CarolynM We are having a further easing from June too. I am looking forward to it, yet is is exciting how things will turn out. Numbers are decreasing rapidly even though we live pretty close here 🤞🏽. Wish you the best, stay safe ❤️ 5y

My bookish anecdote: when I was 10, I read Gone with the Wind for the first time. I stayed up all night reading it under the covers with a flashlight, way past my bedtime. I got caught because I was sobbing so loudly I woke up my mom at 3am.
My mom would also catch me reading in the closet when I was suppose to be doing chores.

Every phrases, every words and in Babette's Feast, in particular, every dishes are chosen for a purpose. Reading Blixen compares for me to watching a master lace maker creating a piece right before your eyes. What I liked best about Babette is her 'inébranlable' confidence in herself, in her art, in her talent. #emojinov ?
