Their dark, tangled history together is filled with music and magic, failed friendships and disastrous romance. But even if Constantine somehow survives the supernatural serial killer, the price involved could leave whatevers left of his soul beaten and broken. Foragingfantasy We‘ve seen the movie soo many times. I wonder if I could tempt him to read the book. If he actually ever finishes a book, I might die of shock. 5y

Reggie Did he not like the film? 5y
TrishB @Foragingfantasy I‘ve only seen it once !! 5y
TrishB @Reggie nope! Don‘t know if you know the book - Constantine is a blonde scouser (person from Liverpool!) and in the film he‘s played by Keanu Reeves, not a blonde scouser 😁 this annoys him ever so slightly! 5y

Mehso-so

Gorgeous art undone by a script that just Never. Stops. Talking. Riley Rossmo is a phenomenal pick for a book like this, but his excellent character designs and atmospheric horror are frequently undermined by a script that just can‘t seem to let the art do the explaining. I don‘t blame Ming Doyle for this, as her co-writer - James Tynion III - has this problem regularly on his books. Promising, but disappointing.

This was such a great book. I loved the story and the artwork was really gritty and dark. It also had small bits of comic relief to balance out the very dark main character.

DC has been having a time trying to get Constantine back into circulation and I think they may have something here. He's as unlikable as he is in the original comics, the art reminds me a lot of those old comics, and certain aspects of his character are back! Sure his swears are censored but hey, he's swearing lots!
