Hutchinson excels at writing stories exploring loss, guilt, pain, regret, hope, love, friendship & the magnified importance, real & sometimes not, of everything, great & small, when you‘re a teen learning to navigate not only the world but also being human. This story—Drew is only survivor of a crash that killed his family & now he lives (hides) in hospital where they were last alive. The arrival of a new patient may show him a way forward.❤️💜❤️

I finished this e-book this morning and had to think on it. It's a well put together novel/graphic-novel. It's great fun for anyone looking for a The Fault in Our Stars teenage tragic love story with tons of drama and some gay characters. And it treats its gay characters like any other characters--much appreciated. However, I found it to be unrealistically dramatic, to the point that I rolled my eyes a few times. A lot of fun, though.

sprainedbrain Uh oh... the dreaded eye roll! 😂 7y
AllenTStClair @sprainedbrain 😂I still enjoyed the melodrama as I did it. 7y

Going to start this e-book and read it in tandem with My Antonia. Hopefully it's as good as all the things I've heard! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I really, really wanted to like this book more. I loved the idea, the isolation feeling that was so well created, and the main character. The rest of the characters didn't feel the same way and there was just something else that didn't click all the way for me.

YA book Interesting premise with well developed characters. I don't know why I enjoyed it but I did. it hit that sweet spot of disbelief and emotional vulnerability. a quick read but with a lot of literary methods. a lovely, dark, lgbtq story of loss and the lost hope of redemption.

Andrew lost his entire family in a car accident and now believes the only way he can stay connected to them is by secretly living in the hospital where they died. Poor Andrew is so sad, living in a sad place, where even more sad things happen. There were some sweet passages about love but TFSAB is an otherwise bleak novel with no arc of emotions. ⭐️⭐️

Amazingly thought-provoking. Full of twists and turns I would never expect. This book sets LGBT+ stereotypes aflame, showing us that everyone is not as they seem.
