pick🎧 Finished off the series with a bang. My favorite of the 3 & the 1st book was my 2nd favorite.
It was sad. It was shocking. It was kind of funny that Cicero mentioned multiple times that he was SO old at 60 that it was ok if he died, then married someone 1/3 his age )for her money) & then run away from her.
Just so many little snippets of humor, sadness, still a lot of politics, Caesar …
The trilogy is a minimum 4.5⭐️ stars.

pickThird in his Cicero trilogy sees the great man return from exile but find himself increasingly marginalised as the Big Three of Crassus, Pompey and Caesar circle each other uneasily, waiting for the final showdown. So many incidents remind us how things stay essentially the same throughout history - the description of the evacuation of Dyrrachium, for example, brought to mind the fall of Saigon. And the ending is genuinely moving.
pickThe final book in the trilogy about Cicero, the Forum and politics in ancient Rome. Absolutely loved this trilogy.
I have like *3*books started, but none of them have really engaged me. You know, like * I have to read instead of work*! So I started another one. I want to be transported into my book, that's when I know it's worth losing a couple hours ( or a day)!
