Especially good for a holiday read, this is a great book with just the right amount of twist and turn to be engaging but believable

Couldn‘t recommend this highly enough. Manages to be both an easy read and satisfyingly complex. Follows Don Tillman, a genetics professor who sets out to find a wife, using based on the data they enter into his questionnaire. Couldn‘t put this one down.
Absolutely loved this book, which tells the story of Georgina the Duchess of Devonshire (played by Keira Knightley in the movie of the same name) who ends up married a cold Duke in the 18th century. Comes with all the trimmings - society scandals, high fashion, affairs.
Weird but interesting book retelling the story of “the Clefts”: an ancient coastal community of women who don‘t need men (even to reproduce - they only produce girls). Enter a “malformed” child (a boy) followed by even more boys, and the Clefts have to manage this seeming “threat”...
Equal parts beautiful, interesting and sad, The Island is set on Spinalonga, a leprosy colony off Crete in 1940s (ish).
Meh. I‘m not one for this type of book anyway, but I feel like this novel length book could be condensed into a few pages.
The final book in the trilogy about Cicero, the Forum and politics in ancient Rome. Absolutely loved this trilogy.
Second of three books about Cicero, the Forum and politics in ancient Rome. Absolutely loved this trilogy.
First of three books about Cicero, the Forum and politics in ancient Rome. Absolutely loved this trilogy.
Favourite of the three Strike books to date... easily the most gripping of the first three books about the PI and his sidekick.
From the author of Chocolat, an entertaining and beautifully written book.
Gripping thriller revolving around a controversial trading algorithm, set in Switzerland. Completely different to the Cicero series and Harris‘s other books, but still hard to put down.
Another awesome book from Elizabeth Kostova, this time centreing on a painting and a tumultuous relationship in modern day. Gripping and emotional.
Intended for teens, but easily one of the best books and series of books I‘ve ever read. Explores race dynamics in a parallel universe to ours - with elements of Romeo and Juliet. Will bring tears to your eyes.
Not as gripping as Cuckoo Calling, perhaps due to what feels like a much larger cast of characters. Moody brooding PI investigates a controversial author‘s death.
Moody PI investigates celebrity model‘s death. Easy to read and entertaining.
Probably one of my favourite ever books. Elements of thriller, adventure history and scandal all in one...
