Tell-All
Tell-All | Chuck Palahniuk
'Every word he's written about me is a lie including "and" and "the"...'For decades Hazie Coogan has tended to the outsized needs of Katherine 'Miss Kathie' Kenton, a star of the wattage of Elizabeth Taylor and the emotional torments of Judy Garland. The survivor of multiple marriages, career comebacks and cosmetic surgeries, Miss Kathie lives the way legends should. But danger lurks when gentleman caller Webster Carlton Westward III arrives and worms his way into Miss Kathie's heart and boudoir. Hazie discovers that this bounder has already written his celebrity tell-all memoir and that it foretells her death in a forthcoming Lillian Hellman-penned World War II musical extravaganza Unconditional Surrender, in which Miss Kathie portrays Lily defeating Japanese forces from Pearl Harbor to Nagasaki. As the body count mounts, Hazie must execute a plan to save Katherine Kenton for her fans - and for posterity...

This was a really fun #audiobook. The narrator did an excellent job. It's really funny. It's told like a movie script but as a tell-all written by a movie star's companion. And there's some murder.

I think nearly everyone else is finished with #40Miles20Hours but here are my final totals:
42.36 miles 16.85 hours

This is a short read, but I liked it more than the last Palahniuk I read. It‘s pretty fun, pretty sexual and an ode to classic movie stars in a way. If you want something you can read in one or two sittings, I would say give it a go.

I tend to read one ebook and one hard copy at a time. Figured I‘d give this Palahniuk a shot despite not really being thrilled with his work since Survivor. The completist in me must finish the lineup. I‘m 36 pages in and already kinda exhausted with all the name dropping in the book but the narrative suspense keeps me plugging along.

I LOVE Palahniuk but this book killed me inside. I gave it a valiant effort but couldn't make it through. The constant multi-name-dropping per sentence was brutal. Especially when 99% of the names meant nothing to me.
