My husband and I have officially booked our first trip since the onset of the pandemic- come September, we will be taking in the gorgeous views of the Great Smoky Mountains! Tell me, Tennessee Littens- are there must-visit bookstores or bookish sites in the Gatlinburg area? I'll add them to the top of my list! #VaxxedAndReady #AnniversaryTrip

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I‘ll be watching the comment section of this like a hawk! We‘re going there in two weeks!! 😍 3y
Andrea313 @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Oooh, that's so exciting! Are there specific items on your "must-do" list? We"ve just started planning and I'm having so much fun. :) 3y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm We‘re going to Anakeesta at least one day for zip lining, mountain coaster, treetop trail, etc. The hiking trails we‘re definitely going on are Clingman‘s Dome and Mingo Falls because they‘re my moms favorites. I want to do a horse trail and some of us want to take a blade smith class at a forge. Magic Mushroom pizza is a MUST!!🍕🤤 If you like alcohol, Ole Smoky Moonshine gives free samples and if you like coffee, Coffee & Company makes THE BEST! 3y

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm This is the only interesting looking bookstore I could find online unless you go to one of the big box stores: https://khopemedia.wixsite.com/alongstoryshortco I‘ve not been there though. They opened in 2017 and I haven‘t been back to TN since about 2010. Looks worthwhile though. 3y
Andrea313 @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Wow, thank you for sharing all of that! It all sounds like a fantastic time, but I'm sorry, a *blade smith class at a forge*?!?!? BRB JUST FOUND MY CALLING. 😍 3y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm You‘re very welcome! Here‘s the site link to the forge: https://ironmountainmetalcraft.com 3y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm @Andrea313 So we‘ve just returned from our trip and I wanted to let you know I found only two actual bookstores while I was there: A Long Story Short, which had used books and GORGEOUS decor/antiques, and the Book Warehouse which is attached to the Moon Pie General Store, it‘s new books, and they have a whole section in the front for local fiction and nonfiction. The Relic Room, which is inside Knife Works had some ancient books and I fell ⬇️ 3y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm in love with and purchased an old History of Man book from 1875. 😍 I hope this helps some with your planning. 3y
Andrea313 @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm OMG! How sweet of you to remember and come back and let me know! I will plan to check out both places. I hope you had a fabulous trip! ❤️ 3y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm You‘re very welcome! 👍 It was wonderful! I hope yours is amazing too! ❤️ 3y

If you ever get a chance you should see the synchronized fireflies in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Bookish_Viking Did some hiking there when I was younger during a couple family trips. Was pretty cool, especially the views of the misty/foggy mountaintops from viewpoints. 4y
TheSpineView It is a great park to hike in. 🤩 4y

Bookish_Viking It‘d be awesome to hike the Appalachian Trail in its entirety from Georgia to Maine. 2200 miles of wilderness goodness. Need lots of books on that trip. 4y
TheSpineView @ReaperOfTerrasen I would have to take my Kindle and a solar charger. The AT goes right through this area and is very popular. Lots of day hikes you can do from here 4y
