2024 done!
New ABC Title Challenge Board for 2025!
Play, tag and have fun! Hopefully I'll do better this time around, my last years board was pitiful.

It would seem that I did not do well in this, I thought I'd have more filled in. Too many repeating letters in my titles this year.

Updated Board!
Fractal Noise on the N: Unfortunately not my favorite of Paolini. I love All his books, always fantastic...except this one. The story for me was kind of flat, which is a shame because TSIASOS is Perfection.
House of Flame and Shadow on the H: My review of this gorgeous piece of fantasy is on my previous post, complete perfection and in the top running for my book of the year.
Ho-Ly…WOW!!
I don‘t even know where to start with this book. The sheer awesomeness has no bounds, not enough stars on any review page to give a proper rating.
Where the Maasverse goes from here… I may need to start eating healthier and try exercising.

The Number slot is filled! The Third Daughter is very good and can't wait for the sequel. If you wanna play, I have a blank board on my feed!
I added updated book room photos onto my Instagram (easier than collaging or adding them one post at a time on here). Insta: ReaperofTerrasen

Got a few slots taken and already a couple repeat letters, since I am reading the Lord of the Rings One-Volume at the moment and a repeat S.
First I need to credit @KatieRose23 for this idea as I first saw this idea on one of her posts. I thought the ABC Challenge was an awesome idea so I googled for templates, but of all that I did find, none of them really fit the 1:1 Square photo requirement for Litsy, so I created my own. Take it, share it, recreate it, do what you want with it if you'd like. Here is the template that I made and I'll add the hashtag:

1)Dirk Pitt - Dirk Pitt Series (Cussler)
2)Harry Dresden - Dresden Files series (Butcher)
3)Avery Grambs - The Inheritance Games (Barnes)
RunnerUp:
Bryce Quinlan - Specifically HOEAB (Maas)
Some characters I picked because they have good investigative skills and WOULD make for good detectives, are clever and do investigations of a sort in their books.
ALWAYS Hardcover!
I'm a slower reader, but can read faster if there are absolutely no distractions.
Series because of more in depth world and character building
Always buy. Collector!
Day and Night reader equally.
I say sofa but actually my recliner.
the “F/E to lovers“ trope is situational...
SOMEtimes a Youtube playlist on.
Like 1POV a hair better.
Short Chapters, easier to stop when I need to.

Post 3 of 3
The yearly book records sheets are simple records I keep of the books I read in the year, when I start and finish them, pages read and yearly book count. This shows the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024s records
Post 2 of 3
The Statistics page. All data on this page is automated from the Inventory sheet and yearly book records pages (shown in post 3 of 3). It has random stats (upper left), sizes of books finished (lower left and graph, and goal completion (upper right)
Post 1 of 3
I thought I‘d share my Bookroom Inventory Database (BID) after sharing my spreadsheet obsession on the quirks. It‘s a shame you can only post one pic at a time (aside from collages) on here. I have built a color coded spreadsheet that is automated to a Statistics page (shown in post 2 of 3). Every page is accounted for in my bookroom.
“This book is largely concerned with Hobbits, and from its pages a reader may discover much of their character and little of their history.”
One-Volume book, it‘ll be the biggest book I‘ve read when finished. 1,031 pages not including all the Appendices and extra stuff. 1/3 of the way through.
#FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl
1) I am obsessed with spreadsheets. I have entire spreadsheets for random nonsense just because it was fun making them. (Including a 9 year long book inventory spreadsheet system with automation and color codes)
2) I don‘t like creams. (Sour cream, whipped cream, etc) the texture…. ::shudder::
3) I don‘t like paperback books…if I can‘t find a book in hardcover…I won‘t read it until I do.

Bonesmith was fantastic and my Preto debut, went out and got more of her books after that.

January is finished! On to the next.
Loving this book!!
I did find ONE thing I‘d consider interesting, not necessarily bad. I‘ve found this in many other things too.
Wren seems to come up with the name Iron Revenant on page 303. Then on page 358, the name Iron Revenant is used by two different characters that would have no idea Wren made the name.
One character creates a term that is suddenly widely known and used, despite there being no way it spread that quickly.
Snagged this gem during a small book haul today. All three books in one volume in about 1200 pages with color illustrations and maps.
I have to admit that I‘ve never read the LOTR books so this will me my first journey through.
My 2023 top five books and 2023 summary.
1) Fourth Wing - Rebecca Yarros
2) The Will of the Many - James Islington
3) Warrior of the Wild - Tricia Levenseller
4) Champion of Fate - Kandare Blake
5) The Isles of the Gods - Amie Kaufman
**not sure if spoilers**
Three Dark Crowns / Champion of Fate connection!
“Aethiel is special because she was once a queen…
…She also comes from a place where royal sisters are forced to kill one another to ascend the throne.”
Ferrah to Reed, Champion of Fate pg.393
Aethiel is from Fennbirn Island! I love connections.
The floating and migrating islands of The Phoenix Empire is one of my favorite geographical world settings I‘ve ever come across.
The way they have to chart the movements of the islands to navigate to them, the same way someone would have to chart planetary orbits to travel between them, gives the world itself an air of mystery and personality. Loving this book and series so far.

Hello everyone! Been awhile. Good thanksgivings? Good Black Friday? Kinda splurged yesterday.
Nahri: “Did you just set me on fire?
Dara: “You wouldn‘t wake! I thought it might help.”
“Sometimes one must study history, Your Highness. But sometimes one must make it. Whatever it costs”

Happy (Belated) World Book Day - April 24.
Also, I walk into my book room and just stand there and take in the scent of paper and ink every morning before work and every day when I get home. Nothing better.
Aelin (ToG series) - The journey she takes from book .5 to book 7 I think would break any other character. Strong, determined, fierce.
Rin (The Poppy Wars) - Quickly becoming a favorite character, Rin is fantastic. Witty, bold and takes no crap.
Tezza (Fate of the Fallen series) - Simply hilarious and strong willed.

Holy Buckets! The sequel to To Sleep in a Sea of Stars!

Getting my 2023 Book Release whiteboard started.

Sooo....I kinda met Adalyn Grace randomly at a coffee shop before YALLfest starts.
Was grabbing an iced mocha at a coffee shop that's hosting Victoria Aveyards signing. I saw a lady walk in and I saw a YALLfest badge around her neck and went to ask her about where the line starts. Turns out it wasn't a volunteer badge but an author badge, having never seen Adalyn Grace I didn't know what she looked like... Had a nice 20 minute conversation.
Jumping on these awesome BOTY Brackets, looks like fun!

1) Definitely music. I've actually never listened to a podcast in my life. Don't even really know what one is...
2) Usually have a traveling playlist otherwise Pandora if there is signal. I can't read while a passenger in a car, due to motion sickness, but reading on a plane seems to not trigger it. Plenty of that on the flight to YALLfest Thursday.
Just wondering if anyone else is going to YALLfest in Charleston next weekend? Or knows someone who is. Looking forward to it, flying out Thursday.
New name, a name that better reflects myself.

1) I'd say before I was born for it to feel historical.
2) I have only read a few HF so far. So I don't know about spooky but tragic is definitely The Magnolia Palace. Based on the real life sculpture muse, Audrey Munson, known as Miss Manhattan and is the muse for many of Manhattans most famous statues, plus the Forward statue at the top of Wisconsin State Capitol... It's my favorite HF
@eeclayton Thanks!
