I picked this up for The Canterville Ghost, a story that is ultimately a satire on both the English Aristocracy and Americans and their new money. Mr. and Mrs. Otis and their four children move into Canterville Chase although they have been warned that it‘s been haunted for centuries. The antics of the family in reaction to the ghost is amusing. The other mysteries in this collection were entertaining as well, but I‘m partial to Wilde‘s style.👻🎃

#octphotochallenge #witchoraghost I think I like ghosts more and this was the first I thought of even though it's the least scary one. I remember reading this story as a teen and just laughing a lot.

It's been years since I read Wilde and I'd forgotten how wonderful a writer he is. Sharp, funny, off the wall and so elegant. Love. I seriously need to get my hands on more of his plays and short stories.
