This was a pretty good collection of stories set in Baltimore. I especially liked the ones that take place in areas I‘m familiar with. Very detailed and well written.

As is often the case with short story collections, this is a mixed bag. Some are riveting, emotional, well-written masterpieces. Others are disappointing, boring, and feel like wastes of precious reading time. The rest fall somewhere in between. “Liminal” by Joseph Wallace was probably my favorite. If you know nothing about the city, though, you‘d think it was almost exclusively baseball (Go Orioles!) and the “Homicide” TV show. 🙄

Theaelizabet Lippman has been on my radar for some time. Our daughter graduated from JHU last year, so we spent a good amount of time in B‘more. She misses it and so do we. 5y
