Terry Jo Duperrault was 11 when her family was murdered at sea aboard a chartered sailboat off the coast of Florida. She jumped overboard just in time to escape. A great short book about a girl found floating in the ocean after her whole family was murdered at sea. The beginning and end are weak, but the girl‘s tenacity and strength really shine through and make it worth the read. Audio isn‘t great, but the story is good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Imagine waking up on a sailboat only to find your entire family murdered, the captain's wife murdered, and you are alone with the captain, who committed the crime. Then imagine the captain scuttling the boat and leaving you to die. Now imagine trying to figure life out when this tragedy blindsides you at age 11 leaving you orphaned. I heard this story on a podcast, #MyFavoriteMurder and was riveted. Figured I would read the book. A family sails around the Bahamas and this little girl is found days later, after the boat disappeared. Her family was murdered while on the boat and the captain thought he was the only survivor. He tells police a much different story....until the little girl is found 😳
