My man Dylan and Buffalo Tom on vinyl
While I truly admire Britney, I doubt she wrote this; the emotional depth seems lacking. I also suspect significant mental health issues , and I question the accuracy of her statements regarding the conservatorship. Having court experience, what she described wouldn't align with reality. It's a poignant tale, but I think her perception might be influenced by her mental health challenges.
I don‘t really have any answers but at least I‘m informed
In crafting a modern-day mythology akin to 'American Gods,' Ms. Link achieves the challenging feat of seamlessly blending a real-world setting with a magical universe. Her work is nothing short of marvelous, capturing my attention and delighting me throughout. While acknowledging that it may not cater to everyone's taste
My good friend loves finding hidden treasures at used book stores and he succeeded in this one. Although this was written in 1961 and about a canoe trip through northwest Canada it says so much about today‘s society
There was a time when I was guilty of glorifying serial killers, I wrote papers about them, knew trivia, and developed a fascination. But that changed several years ago and this book cemented that decision. It‘s a fictional retelling of the Ted Bundy story without ever mentioning his name, instead it focuses on the victims and the victims who survived.
My local bookstore got an ARC for this one and they gave it to me!!! Loving it so far
Wow this book is absolutely magic, best book I have read this year. Wow fantastic. Highly highly recommend
I absolutely love Murderbot but this isn‘t it and I just couldn‘t get into it, I hate when authors make it so complicated to follow by creating words and worlds unnecessarily.
I enjoyed this, but I will admit I had anxiety reading it from her point of you and wondering her next moves. And that ending….I need to discuss it
This book is horribly beautiful and the way it describes Argentina is breathtaking. This is one of those books that I loved reading and looked forward to reading each night….but it‘s scary! there is a section with kids and a house that is the absolute scariest thing I‘ve ever read. I had to put it down for days.
I don‘t normally buy the hype but I did and when my local bookstore got a few copies in I got one. Wow, it‘s like hunger games meets game of thrones. I devoured this in a couple days and have already ordered the next one
As a dad I really enjoyed and appreciated this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Read this in one day…when a book makes you hate the narrator but also kind of want her to get away with it that‘s a great book by a great author
Quick and good read, really enjoyed how it nearly wrapped up. Also sad how close it is to our current reality with social media and climate change
It‘s sad how much of our history is hidden from us, this book is astounding and brutal. I‘m sure this book will be banned at some point soon, it makes me angry that at 46 I‘m just learning about this, we have to do better
I‘m a white male and a runner and because of my privilege I‘ve never dealt with things described in this book. I would suggest this book for anyone runners and non runners. It offers an insight into the struggles black people face. Everyone can be better by learning, reading and growing. Don‘t be a weak pathetic human like Desantis
I‘m over half way through this one and when I read the reviews about triggers (true), violence, grossness, I laughed and laughed and thought it won‘t bother me. I read the part about the kids and the house…I can no longer read this one after dark
I have been so looking forward to this and it‘s gorgeous
Imagine you are on a long car trip in a junk car in your twenties with your best friend who happens to be Quentin Tarantino. I loved this book, I love how much he loves movies, he makes me want to love movies. He makes you feel like you need to see these movies. It‘s like you are sitting in a movie trailer on the set in the 70‘s. He describes the screenplays, and how they are different than the actual movie. The actors, directors, a fun read
I absolutely love every book she has written that i have read so far. I think it‘s because she writes characters who embrace loneliness and enjoy the subtle life. I love being alone and I love books with the ambiance of quiet introversion.
Grady Hendrix does it again, this may be my favorite so far
I did a thing today, I just so happened to be passing by Indianapolis for work so I took a little detour and it was amazing. @britt_brooke
New book from my local bookstore
This book is not what I expected and it seems so far to be one of the most challenging books I have ever attempted but it‘s absolutely stunning and gorgeous and gives me hope for the future that someone once wrote like this.
Oh how to review this book, while the story is good and different, the writing is antiquated and very misogynistic. The female character is pointless and just there to distract the main character. Like I said the story is good so there is that
My October read this year is the original vampire. After finally reading this I am astonished how well it has held up. It was creepy, scary and exciting and while Dracula may not be my favorite vampire he is definitely pretty great in this.
I loved the beauty and heartbreak in this book, it will hold a special place in my library forever. A book that requires recovery is a book worth reading
What a fun book, it was like watching Svenghoulie on Saturday night (which if you have never watched svenghoulie I highly recommend, Saturdays at 8 on metv) anyway it was fun mindless book that is a great time
New book from my local bookstore and watching firefly on its 20th anniversary makes for a great evening
Oh Boy….this book this book right here will take you back. Back to your childhood you‘ve since lost. The author gets it all right every single aspect. This was such a fun book and fun read. Imagine a sequel to goonies, the lost boys, ghostbusters now with them aging and having to do the same heroic things while being a parent. I will love this book forever.
Words cannot encompass what this book is, if more people actually read this maybe the critical race theory bullshit would go away. It‘s a wonderful and well researched book that shows what our country is and also what it needs to be. We need to be better
Finally finished this behemoth 1363 pages of amazement. Written in the mid 1800s as weekly newspaper serial that soon captivated Europe and then the world. This story is the ancestor of many modern dramas including Batman, Shawshank Redemption, and the list goes on and on. So grateful penguin classics chose to republish this work. I loved loved this book
I enjoyed this one for the nostalgia plus I always enjoy Klosterman‘s writing but it was less than I was expecting, I wanted more of a deep dive into the actual culture of the 90‘s and what it actually meant.
Loved this one, loved the different aspect and loved how the characters were flushed out
Finally reading this classic
I did enjoy this one and I loved the mystery aspect although I want to know more about you know what….
I‘m Nashville for a dance competition and made some time to hit a local bookstore
Take a little bit oceans 11 and add some Game of Thrones and a little bit of everything else and then you have this amazing book. The characters, the plot, everything is flushed out and you feel a part of the heist and you are nervous for the outcome. This book is great and I desperately need a sequel.
