A girl lost. An unwanted pregnancy, an abortion, and loss of motivation for many parts of her life. Depressing and a slog for me; but indicative of a journey barely started, with more to come…

One sitting read... good story; ending was a bit rushed, I would have liked a bit more of Addie‘s new relationship. Overall, good YA.

Such a poetic book about the reality of young love. It talks about heavy subjects in a light tone that makes us all understand and think about our views on these subjects. Truly a masterpiece.

Wow. Addy goes to a private Catholic high school, is a track star, gets pregnant, has an abortion. Working her way through the aftermath Addy mulls over her religion. "...history might be different if Mary had said to the angel Gabriel, 'You want me to do what???'" Told in verse, this is a quick but thoughtful read. Undeniably sharp and brave there are no cliches here. This one is smart and unusual.

BethFishReads Wasn't this good? I really like novels in verse 7y
Bette I like novels in verse as well. @BethFishReads And I know I'll read this again. 7y

A book in verse that takes an honest look at abortion. We need more books like this one. The verse added to the feeling of brutal honesty and raw emotion. This was a short and powerful read.

It was a great idea for a book. Catholic high schooler, abortion. Written mostly in blurbs and poems.

Heppermann always cuts right to the heart of the matter. A x-country star at a Catholic girls school copes with how she's been changed by a wanted abortion. Realistic, nonjudgmental, thought-provoking. A novel in verse for teens & adults

hwheaties I loved this. 8y

Meh. Liked parts, but overall felt like this skimmed the surface too much.

This book comes out Tuesday and it's a must-read YA verse novel about feminism, faith, love, friendship, and deals realistically with teen abortion. One of 2016's best YA titles.

While this one wasn't bad, it just wasn't for me. I didn't care much for any of the characters and while the story was good, it wasn't enough. It is a quick read though.

This one is super short and written in verse so I'm gonna read it real quick, hopefully.

Current read. And by current I mean over halfway through already. Good stuff.

Kelly Love this book so much. 8y
hwheaties @Kelly Really is great. I love the tone and the way so much is said without saying it. I need a while to go back in and write a proper review of it though. 8y
Kelly Def go back and reread just Addie's project poetry too. It's so smart. 8y
