Today's #bookhaul from my trip to the used bookstore. I noticed they have Book Sox now, so I got two of those. (But I might be back for more!) The "Immortal Unicorn" is for @sedeara since I already have a copy. There was so many awesome old mass market paperbacks in their sci-fi room today, I wanted to dig around in those boxes and shelves all day.

DivineDiana Book socks! I thought you could only buy through etsy! Good to know! 8y
LiteraryinPA What is a book sock? 8y
pocketmermaid @DivineDiana These are Book Sox brand that are stretchable book covers that go over hardcover books. They're typically used to cover textbooks. They aren't the cool handmade book sleeves that the talented Etsy people are making. Book Sox are sold in places like Staples or Target during school supply season and you can get them for about $1. 8y

pocketmermaid @LiteraryinLititz See my reply to @DivineDiana above. 😀 8y
pocketmermaid @LiteraryinLititz No prob! They also have some on Amazon, but they are a tad overpriced. Though I've been known to buy an overpriced one if I like the pattern. 😁 8y
DivineDiana @pocketmermaid Thank you! Now I see the difference! 8y

Pickpick

Overall, this was a great collection of short stories involving all incarnations of the unicorn myth. I enjoyed more stories than I skipped, which is a bonus. I've also thought about exploring new authors that I'd not heard of before. My favorite stories were What the Eye Sees, What the Heart Feels and The Devil on Myrtle Ave.

Waiting for my husband after his train was unexpectedly canceled, so why not get as much read as possible while sitting at the train station. Rugrats are coloring, I'm reading...now if I wasn't frazzled about being late for the PTA meeting tonight...lol

RadicalReader @iamiamiam enjoy your book why not pick up a book whenever possible. 8y
IamIamIam @RadicalReader I totally agree! With all that I have to do in a day, any few stolen minutes of reading are perfect! 8y
RadicalReader @iamiamiam I am addicted to books so awesome of a time to have to dedicate to reading books 8y

That's 4 books that aren't on @Litsy!!! Lol, since Jonathan Strange is so large, it didn't really fit in the bag with the kids' swimming stuff so I grabbed this book of short stories, curated by #PeterBeagle that are about the unicorn. Not necessarily HIS Unicorn, but the lore is compelling and the various versions of the myth are addressed. **UPDATE: was able to tag the book...lol

TobeyTheScavengerMonk Been curious about this one. Interested to know what you think. 8y
IamIamIam @TobeyTheScavengerMonk It's interesting. The stories are hit or miss but there was only 1 I totally bailed on. Another was so haunting I needed a break!!! Lol, my husband picked this up in a used book store so if you can grab it cheaply, go for it. 8y
