An lot of Elizabeth Peters novels would suit these prompts. This is the first one I read. Susan and Jamie journey around Scotland on the run from the villains and the authorities using Jamie's uncanny resemblance to a member of the royal family as cover. There's lots of entertaining background about Scottish legends, including the location of the real Stone of Scone.

somebooksaround Anything set in Scotland I am down, this sounds very exciting! Thank you for sharing!! 4y

Re-reading (listening) to this one. Always fun! And continues my Scottish trend. :)

CarolynM This was the first Elizabeth Peters I read. It was serialised in a magazine many years ago. Still a favourite. 5y

Just started the audio, and was about to start mixing cookie dough. But dropped my box of recipe cards. 😢 So first, recipe sorting.
