A gorgeous collection of poetry, starting with the Black power movement in the 60s and going onwards from there.

The folk here / are old / There are wheel / Chairs and people / Struggling / To push them / There are sad / Eyed people looking / Up from beds they / Cannot stretch out / In / And some simply cannot / Move their heads

All will become something precious/ Sapphires...Emeralds...Rubies which/ Will be discovered / By other explorers who / Will polish and shape / The stones / And we will wear them / Never knowing/ Whose loved one / We have / Embraced

What a beautiful tribute to a man so caring. We lost him, the embodiment of hope, 50 years ago today. The tragedy seems never to end. I love this poem.

Love: distraction, obsession and possession. I swear it's an addiction. A lovely addiction. Does that explain the title?

I am not well-versed in poetry (yuk, yuk) but one of my best friends read 'Resignation' at my wedding and it holds a special place in my heart. 💓 #AprilBookShowers

Confession: I went book shopping today. I took 3 bags of books from my shelves with me, and came home with only 2 bags. All of the books are for my 2017 reading. I don't have enough diverse poetry, so I'm trying to rectify that situation. Here are two I'm looking forward to reading. #poetry #bookhaul #LitsyPoetry365
